Houthi official decries US sanctions on Iran as ‘psychological war’
A senior Houthi official says the new US sanctions are part of a “psychological war” on the Iranian people.
Washington has resorted to economic sanctions “after the failure of the military option”, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, deputy foreign minister for the Houthis, told the group’s Sanaa-based Saba News Agency.
He also warned regional countries against making themselves “tools for implementing the unjust US measures” against the Iranian people, Saba reported.

Houthi leader pledges support for Palestinians, condemns Saudi ‘tyranny’
Houthi leader Abdel-Malik al-Houthi has reiterated the Yemeni group’s commitment to supporting Palestinian fighters and called for “new action” against Saudi Arabia, in a speech marking the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, according to statements carried by the Houthi-run SABA news agency.
Al-Houthi said the group would “spare no effort” in backing the Palestinian people until the fall of Israel.
He accused the Saudi government of committing “tyranny and injustice” against the Yemeni people and said the situation demanded “new moves using all legitimate means” to counter Riyadh’s policies.
He also condemned what he described as a 12-year “unjust siege” and “aggressive occupation” by Saudi Arabia, which he said was carried out with US backing.
The current flare-up in tensions between the Saudis and the Houthis began in mid-July, when a Saudi-led air strike hit the runway of Sanaa International airport, preventing an Iranian flight from landing. The Houthis retaliated by launching missile and drone strikes on Saudi oil infrastructure and announcing a maritime blockade on Saudi shipping in the Red Sea. The group has since carried out multiple attacks on Saudi vessels and oil facilities.

Yemeni forces say repelled Houthi attack in Taiz, killed 8 fighters
Yemeni government forces claim to have repelled an assault by Houthi fighters on the Kalaba front line in the southwestern province of Taiz, saying they killed at least eight Houthi fighters and wounded 15 others, according to a statement from the Taiz Axis Command, carried by the Taiz News Network.
The clashes, which erupted in the al-Safa area, involved heavy exchanges of fire, the military command said.
