Houthis accuse Israel of continuing Gaza assassinations with US, Board of Peace support

Yemen’s Houthi political bureau has accused Israel of continuing assassinations and ceasefire violations in Gaza with direct US support and what it described as cover from countries in the Board of Peace.

The statement came as the group offered condolences over the reported killing of Mohammed Abdulsalam al-Yazouri, described as the commander of Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade and a member of the Qassam Brigades’ military council, in an Israeli strike on Gaza.

The Houthis said the killings would not weaken Palestinian armed groups and called for continued support for the Palestinian cause.

They also urged firm opposition to what they described as Israeli violations against Muslim holy sites, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli film on Gaza receives 25-minute ovation at Venice premiere

A film documenting Israel’s use of AI-powered systems to target Palestinians in Gaza has received a 25-minute standing ovation at its premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

The 80-minute film, NAZA, was directed by Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, who won an Oscar in 2025 for No Other Land, a documentary on Israeli settler pogroms in the occupied West Bank, made with Palestinian codirectors Basel Adra and Hamdan Ballal.

The result of a nearly three-year investigation, the film is built on testimony from Israeli military and intelligence sources who spoke on the condition that their identities be concealed. Their voices and faces were digitally altered, and they were filmed at night on Tel Aviv rooftops.

Arab League chief anticipates ‘new explosion’ in the region if the situation in Palestine remains unchanged

The Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Fahmy said he anticipates a “new explosion” in the region if the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and Gaza remains unchanged.

Fahmy also said Israel was aware before the October 7 attacks that the situation was inevitably heading toward an explosion.

He said Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement are hindering the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, while stating that “Palestinians are committed to the Gaza ceasefire agreement”.

Fahmy said that he believes that the current situation means implementing the two-state solution has become “more difficult that it was previously”.

The US brokered a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in October 2025, but Israel has killed at least 1,369 Palestinians since then.

Israeli attack on vehicle kills 2 people southwest of Gaza City

Two people were killed and others injured when Israeli forces bombed a vehicle in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, Al Jazeera’s team in Gaza has reported.

Many Gaza hospital generators no longer working amid fuel shortage

A number of electricity generators at hospitals in the Gaza Strip are no longer working due to shortages of spare parts and fuel, the enclave’s Health Ministry has said.

The ministry said the generators had stopped working in recent days and that the small quantities of fuel allowed into Gaza by Israel were sufficient only for emergency needs.

Israeli forces storm occupied West Bank towns, arrest 8

The Israeli army has carried out multiple raids in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reports.

Israeli soldiers arrested eight Palestinians across Jenin governorate where they raided at least 10 towns and villages, ransacked homes, and interrogated people.

The military also stormed city of Qalqilya and the nearby town of Azzun. No arrests were reported.

Hundreds more Israeli settlers pour into Al-Aqsa compound

Nearly 500 Israeli settlers have stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem throughout the morning, the Jerusalem governorate has said.

The settlers performed prayers and rituals – which are not permitted for non-Muslims at the site – as Israeli forces tightened their measures around the mosque and the Old City.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, began on Friday.

The Jerusalem governorate added that an Israeli media blackout surrounding the settlers’ incursions has raised concerns over attempts to impose new realities on the ground at the site, which is considered the third-holiest in Islam.

Israeli soldiers arrest 2 children during raids in and around Bethlehem

The Israeli military stormed the city of Bethlehem early this morning and arrested two Palestinian children, aged 14 and 15, Wafa has reported.

Separately, Israeli forces raided four towns east of Bethlehem but did not arrest anyone.

Children in the occupied West Bank are facing a sharp rise in settler pogroms and killings by Israeli forces, the UN has said. Youths are held in Israeli detention with no access to lawyers and no word sent to their parents, a separation that can amount to enforced disappearance.

Hundreds of Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

Nearly 250 Israeli settlers have entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem, where they performed prayers and rituals under the protection of Israeli soldiers, Wafa reports.

Non-Muslims are permitted to visit the Al-Aqsa compound, but performing prayers is not allowed under a 1967 status quo agreement governing the site.

The compound is considered Islam’s third-holiest site and frequently sees provocations by Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who has led stormings of the grounds multiple times since taking office in 2022.

Settlers storm Palestinian village in occupied West Bank, Israeli forces raid another village

Settlers have stormed the village of Burqa in the occupied West Bank, while Israeli forces have raided the village of Kafr Ein.

Footage shared by Quds News Network shows livestock belonging to settlers roaming on Palestinian land after the settlers released them in Burqa, east of Ramallah.

Separately, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ein, northwest of Ramallah, and shot at young Palestinian men, the Wafa news agency reports. No injuries have been reported.

The report added that Israeli forces arrested a young man from Burqa while he was at work in the village of Ramoun.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said on Thursday that Israel had arrested more than 100 people in the West Bank over the past week, as pogroms continue across the occupied territory.

Two Palestinian workers wounded by Israeli fire near Bethlehem

Two Palestinians have been wounded after Israeli forces opened fire in the Kremzan area of Beit Jala, west of Bethlehem, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reports.

The soldiers targeted a group of workers trying to reach their workplace in Jerusalem.
