Pregnant woman in Gaza dies days after Israeli forces shot her

A pregnant woman has succumbed to her wounds after being shot by Israeli forces three days ago south of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, Wafa news agency reports.

Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has killed more than 38,000 women and girls, with another 11,000 sustaining injuries that will lead to lifelong disabilities, according to UN Women.

On Gaza, Trump says ‘we’ve done a great job’

President Trump says US efforts for the war-battered Gaza Strip have been “amazing”.

“When you say Gaza, you know, we put out the fire and we got all the hostages back. There’s very little happening right now in Gaza,” he told a reporter in Ireland when asked about the United States “facilitating Israel’s genocidal war”.

“You know it’s amazing. The parents of those dead hostages, they knew they were dead. They wanted their sons or daughters … back. And we got every one of them back in the end.”

Trump added: “If you look at Gaza, there’s a lot of good relationships taking place right now. It’s been quite amazing. I think we’ve done a great job.”

BRICS leaders say Gaza ceasefire should be upheld and rejects forced displacement of Palestinians

The BRICS group of emerging economies has agreed on a joint declaration, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced.

Here is what the declaration said:

• On Gaza and Palestine, BRICS said the “ceasefire” in Gaza should be maintained and backed a two-state solution.
• Leaders firmly opposed the forced displacement, “temporary or permanent”, of any of the Palestinian population from the occupied Palestinian territory.
• BRICS also opposed any “geographic or demographic” changes to the devastated Gaza Strip.
• Leaders asserted their steadfast support for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, or UNRWA, and stressed the need to fully respect the mandate bestowed on it by the United Nations General Assembly.
• BRICS leaders said they were against any unilateral measures that seek to “alter the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem” and urged that all religious and holy sites in the city be respected.

At least 9 Palestinians wounded in Israeli attack on Gaza Strip

Nine Palestinians have been injured in an Israeli military attack on Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip.

Children are among those injured and the victims were taken to the Palestine Red Crescent Society’s al-Mawasi field hospital for treatment, Wafa news agency reported.

At least 10 Palestinians killed in Gaza over past 48 hours

The health ministry in Gaza says 10 Palestinians have been killed and 56 wounded in Israeli attacks over the past 48 hours.

More victims remain under rubble and on roads, with ambulance and civil defence crews unable to reach them, the ministry added.

It said 1,369 Palestinians have been killed and 4,627 wounded since the October 11 ceasefire. Since Israel’s war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, at least 73,783 Palestinians have been killed and 174,738 wounded, according to the ministry.

Ireland’s president tells Trump ‘normalisation of war and genocide’ cannot be accepted

Ireland’s President Catherine Connolly has highlighted to Donald Trump the Irish people’s “strong commitment” to international relations, the United Nations and their pride in “Ireland’s contribution to UN peacekeeping since 1958”.

In a statement released after her meeting with the US president in Dublin today, Connolly said she “conveyed the strong view of the Irish people that the normalization of war and genocide can never be accepted”.

“As a country which has suffered famine, colonisation and the violence of the Troubles, but also the importance of the long and challenging road to peace, I emphasized the unique insight which Irish people can bring to the resolution of conflict,” she said.

She told Trump that Ireland would “strongly support all those who have the strength to build a shared peace in all those parts of the world currently suffering from such horrific war and violence”.

Palestinian killed in Israeli air strike in southern Gaza

A Palestinian has died from injuries sustained in an Israeli air strike on vehicles in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to a source at Nasser Hospital.

As we reported earlier, nine Palestinians, including children, were wounded in an Israeli military attack on Khan Younis.

The wounded were taken to the Palestine Red Crescent Society’s al-Mawasi field hospital for treatment, according to the Wafa news agency

Israeli forces carry out dawn raids in West Bank towns

Israeli forces have raided the Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, at dawn on Saturday, Wafa news agency reported.

Local sources told Wafa that Israeli forces deployed along al-Maahad Street and various parts of the camp before moving towards Airport Street in Kafr Aqab, and eventually withdrawing towards the city of el-Bireh.

In a separate raid at dawn on Saturday, Israeli forces entered the town of Tammun, south of Tubas, where they raided and searched several civilian homes, ransacking their contents.

Israeli settlers injure two Palestinian farmers in northern West Bank attack

Israeli settlers have opened fire on farmers in the village of Faqqua, in the northern occupied West Bank.

At least two Palestinian farmers have been injured by the gunfire.

Israeli forces arrest 6 Palestinians, wound child during occupied West Bank raids

The Israeli army has arrested six people and wounded a child in raids across Jenin governorate in the occupied West Bank, the Wafa news agency reports.

A 14-year-old boy suffered a broken hand as soldiers stormed the village of Marka. Soldiers also raided homes in Deir Abu Daif, Faqqua, Jabal Abu Dhahir and Silat al-Harithiya.

In Bethlehem governorate, Israeli forces raided at least five towns but did not carry out arrests. They also erected a military checkpoint at the entrance to Zaatara town.

And east of Ramallah, Israeli settlers attacked the outskirts of Burqa village, throwing stones at residents’ homes and vehicles.

Israeli military carries out raids, demolitions across occupied West Bank

Israeli forces, accompanied by settlers, stormed the Palestinian village of al-Mufqara in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.

In occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli authorities forced a Palestinian resident to demolish five commercial structures and shops he owned in the Wadi al-Joz industrial area, Wafa news agency reported. He was threatened with heavy fines if the municipality carried out the demolitions itself.

Earlier, Israeli forces arrested six people and wounded a child during raids across the Jenin governorate. Wafa also reported several Palestinian homes in Muthallath al-Shuhada, south of Jenin, were also stormed.

Israeli forces raid several West Bank towns, wounding a man in Jerusalem

The Israeli army has carried out a waave of raids across the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, wounding one man in Silwan and raiding at least six villages and towns, according to official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

A young man was moderately wounded after being shot by the Israeli army in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to the Jerusalem governorate.

In Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, the army fired tear gas canisters and bulldozers began leveling land on the village’s eastern and western sides, opening roads to ease settler movement during the raid, according to village council head Amin Abu Aliya. No injuries were reported. Al-Mughayyir has faced repeated raids and settler attacks in recent weeks, Abu Aliya said.

Separately, the Israeli army tightened restrictions at the Atara checkpoint north of Ramallah for several hours, blocking vehicle passage and causing severe traffic congestion.

Happened in the occupied West Bank

Palestinian news agency Wafa reports:

• A Palestinian man was shot and moderately wounded by Israeli forces in Ras al-Amud, in occupied East Jerusalem.
• A 68-year-old man suffered injuries to his back and chest, while a 14-year-old boy broke his hand during an Israeli raid on Marka, south of Jenin.
• Another Palestinian was shot in the foot after Israeli forces opened fire as residents of Faqqua confronted settlers grazing livestock on Palestinian land east of Jenin.
• Israeli forces arrested several Palestinians during raids across Jenin governorate, including in Deir Abu Daif and Faqqua, and carried out further searches in Zububa, Silat al-Harithiya and other areas.
• Two brothers were arrested in Tammun, south of Tubas, while Israeli forces also raided Tayasir.
• Israeli forces raided Qalandiya refugee camp, Kafr Aqab, el-Bireh, Dura al-Qara and Deir Abu Meshaal, while tightening restrictions at the Atara checkpoint north of Ramallah.
• Settlers attacked the outskirts of Burqa, east of Ramallah, throwing stones at homes and vehicles and damaging at least one car.
• Settlers also attacked homes in Yasouf, east of Salfit, with no injuries reported.
• In occupied East Jerusalem, a Palestinian man was forced to demolish five businesses he owned in the Wadi al-Joz industrial area after being threatened with heavy municipal fines.
