Arab and Islamic FMs condemn Israeli strikes on Syrian territory

The foreign ministers of 12 Arab and Islamic countries have condemned Israel’s attacks on an airbase in Syria earlier this week.

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye and Pakistan were among those who criticised Israel.

In a joint statement, they warned that “such actions directly risk to undermine Syria’s ongoing efforts to restore security, rebuild national institutions, and address the humanitarian consequences of years of prolonged conflict”.

Israel carried out eight air strikes on Abu al-Duhur airbase near Aleppo in northwest Syria on Tuesday.
