• An Israeli settler has died in the occupied West Bank from a gunshot wound, with the Israeli army saying that the gunman is a Hamas member and that he has been captured. A Palestinian man was killed during an alleged car-ramming attack on Israeli soldiers.

Three Palestinians wounded in Israeli attacks in southern Gaza

The Wafa news agency is reporting that at least three Palestinians have been wounded in Israeli attacks in southern Khan Younis.

The agency, citing local sources, said two of the victims were struck by gunfire from Israeli vehicles near Hamad City. A third person was also wounded by gunfire in the same area.

Nine wounded by Israeli gunfire in Gaza

Nine people have been wounded by Israeli gunfire in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip and Bureij refugee camp in the centre, according to medics.

Child and woman die after being shot by Israeli forces in Gaza

A Palestinian child identified as Ismail al-Bardawil has been killed after being shot in the chest by Israeli soldiers in the al-Mawasi “safe zone” in southern Gaza.

A woman has also died after Israeli troops opened fire east of Deir el-Balah, central Gaza, according to al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Identified as Fidaa Khader Totah, 31, the victim was shot in the head on Salah al-Din Road, it said.

We reported earlier that nine Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gunfire in Bureij camp, central Gaza, and Khan Younis city in the south.

Palestinian man killed by Israeli soldiers in Gaza

A Palestinian man has died from wounds sustained from Israeli forces’ gunfire in Jabalia, the northern Gaza Strip.

It was the third killing today by Israeli troops. Earlier a Palestinian child and a woman died in attacks.

Deadly Israeli attacks continue throughout war-battered Gaza

There have been many Palestinians wounded across the besieged Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli gunfire inside the imposed “yellow line” ceasefire demarcation.

These areas – controlled by the Israeli occupation – encompass more than 70 percent of the Strip’s area. Last night, heavy Israeli gunfire targeted the tents of war-displaced people living near this line.

In southern Khan Younis, there were at least four Palestinians injured in the Qatar Camp in the Hamad area. This area is some distance from the yellow line, yet it received concentrated Israeli gunfire.

People were also wounded by shooting from Israeli military vehicles, with similar attacks in the central area along Salah al-Din Street between the Bureij and Maghazi refugee camps.

There was also artillery shelling targeting people living in those areas.Several injuries were reported there, including a woman in critical condition and a child. They were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

 

This morning in Gaza

Israeli troops in Rafah opened fire early this morning on a Palestinian boy who was shot in his chest and immediately passed away.

In a separate incident in central Gaza, Israeli tanks opened fire on a Palestinian woman walking along Salah al-Din Road – known here as the “road of death” because hundreds of Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers.

A further escalation taking shape on the maritime front, where Israeli vessels opened fire on Palestinian fishermen off Gaza’s coast, wounding three, according to the Health Ministry.

Palestinians still live under the intensity of Israeli attacks that show no sign of letting up despite the nearly year-old ceasefire.

More than 1,300 Palestinians have been killed since it was signed last year with more than 4,000 others wounded. Gaza is a pressure cooker of despair with people facing pressure from multiple directions while the humanitarian situation remains extremely grim.

 

Woman, child wounded as Israeli gunfire forces Gaza clinic evacuation

Israeli gunfire near a medical centre in central Gaza seriously wounded a woman and a child and forced the evacuation of patients and staff, according to UK-based charity Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

The shooting occurred on Sunday in Abu Madeen near Deir el-Balah as rounds struck a rooftop water tank and 40 patients were later forced to evacuate.

It was the second medical facility evacuated because of Israeli gunfire in less than a week, the charity said, after an Israeli quadcopter killed a 65-year-old patient inside a clinic in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

“Nearly a year into the so-called ‘ceasefire’, healthcare in Gaza is still being deliberately targeted by the Israel military on a daily basis,” said Fikr Shalltoot, MAP’s Gaza director, in a statement.

“Medical points are being evacuated, patients are being killed and injured, and hospitals and clinics across Gaza still lack the medicines and supplies they need to function.”

Israeli strike on apartment building in 2023 led to deadly collapse

The government media office says the collapse of an apartment building in Gaza City that killed 21 people and injured dozens was the result of a direct Israeli strike early in the genocidal war.

The attack hit the building’s foundation and lower floors causing severe structural damage that led to its complete collapse last week, it said in a statement.

The media office accused the Israeli military of denying responsibility to evade legal accountability.

Gaza death toll rises to 73,914 since Israel launched war in 2023

At least four Palestinians were killed and 17 wounded in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours in Gaza, the Health Ministry says.

It said in its daily bulletin one of the victims died of previous wounds while three bodies were recovered from the rubble of destroyed buildings.

Since a ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, the ministry puts the death toll at 1,394 with 4,839 wounded and 834 bodies recovered.

At 73,914 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip and 174,952 wounded since Israel’s genocidal war began in October 2023, according to the ministry.

Gaza medical evacuations halted for a second day: Health Ministry

No patients or wounded people were evacuated from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah or Karem Abu Salem crossings for a second consecutive because of holidays observed by Israel.

The suspension compounds an already critical situation for Gaza’s beleaguered health system, where medical evacuations have been repeatedly disrupted by crossing closures and Israeli-imposed conditions throughout 2026.

The World Health Organisation has previously warned thousands of patients in Gaza remain without access to urgently needed treatment unavailable locally.

Another Palestinian killed in Israeli drone strike in Gaza

The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip today has now risen to four.

A man was killed in an Israeli drone strike near al-Sikka in Khan Younis in the south.

We reported earlier a boy was shot in the chest by Israeli troops and killed in southern al-Mawasi. A woman was shot in the head and killed in central Deir el-Balah, and a Palestinian man died from gunshot wounds in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

MSF calls on Israel to spare humanitarian workers during ‘daily’ Gaza strikes

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has urged Israeli authorities to spare civilians and humanitarian vehicles after a series of deadly attacks on the Gaza Strip.

“Israeli forces are showing that nowhere is safe in Gaza,” the medical charity said in a statement. Israeli air strikes continue on Gaza and “each day Palestinians are killed or wounded”.

In a 24-hour period on September 15-16, MSF medics treated 11 people, including five children, wounded by attacks. The previous week, 22 people with shrapnel wounds or injuries from explosions were cared for.

On September 13, the France-based group said a “clearly identified” MSF humanitarian bus carrying 10 staff was damaged when a nearby car was struck, wounding one staff member.

The attack is part of a “continuing pattern” where humanitarian and medical vehicles and staff are exposed to Israeli attacks, showing a “blatant disregard” for their safety.

“Clearly marked medical and humanitarian vehicles must be spared from attacks,” MSF added.

Israeli army says ‘Hamas infrastructure’ struck after vehicle targeted

The Israeli army says it struck Hamas infrastructure in Gaza on Monday evening in response to an explosive device detonating near one of its engineering vehicles.

An Israeli army statement said the vehicle was targeted during operations near the so-called “Yellow Line”, calling it a violation of the “ceasefire” agreement by Hamas.

Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem dismissed that as “false and baseless”, adding the group was committed to the framework, even during ongoing Israeli “breaches and violations”.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has documented the deaths of 1,394 people and injuries to 4,839 in Israeli attacks since the “ceasefire” came into force.

At least 73,914 people have been killed since Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023.

US preparing sanctions on entire International Criminal Court

The Reuters news agency is reporting that the Trump administration has prepared sanctions against the entire International Criminal Court and plans to announce them soon.

The agency cited two sources familiar with the matter.

The US, which wants the ICC to drop its arrest warrants for Israeli leaders including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has already imposed sanctions on a number of judges and prosecutors.

Sanctions on the entire organization, as well as entities that cooperate with it, could severely undermine the court’s work. The ICC’s registrar and president have warned that affected operations could include purchasing IT services and insurance, hiring investigators and carrying out everyday financial transactions, such as paying dozens of American employees.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the move.

Citing two documents and US officials, it says the sanctions would forbid most transactions with the ICC after a grace period of six to seven months. Officials told the paper the decision could be finalized as soon as this week, during the UN General Assembly meeting.

EU official highlights ‘urgent need to advance’ Gaza recovery in call with Israel’s foreign minister

Dubravka Suica, the European commissioner for the Mediterranean, has pressed “the urgent need” to cooperate and speed up reconstruction of war-torn Gaza during a phone call with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.

“I focused on the urgent need to advance early recovery, building on the work of the Palestine Donor Group and the Team Gaza Initiative,” Suica wrote in a post on her X account following Sunday’s call.

“Our continued cooperation is key to delivering early recovery projects on the ground.”

She said they also discussed the European Union’s relationship with Israel and “our shared interest in security and stability across the Middle East”, including a reformed and functioning Palestinian Authority.

The EU has criticized Israel’s conduct in its genocidal war on Gaza while reaffirming Israel’s right to self-defence. It has also criticised Israel’s expansion of illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank.

But the EU’s 27 member ⁠states are divided, with some highly critical of Israel and others maintaining close ties.

Saar said in June that he was severing “all contact” with EU foreign policy chief Kaja ‌Kallas over what he said were remarks attributed to her comparing Israel to apartheid-era South Africa.

 

Australia says ‘Hamas must play no role’ in Palestinian state

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong says Canberra remains committed to a two-state solution, after speaking with her Palestinian counterpart, Varsen Aghabekian.

In a post on X, Wong said they discussed the Palestinian Authority’s “reform agenda” and “our joint efforts to strengthen Palestine’s institutional foundations”. She said they also discussed the “devastating situation in Gaza”.

“I reiterated that Hamas must play no role in the State of Palestine,” she added.

Hamas holds talks with Palestinian factions in Egypt

A Hamas delegation held a series of meetings with several Palestinian factions in Cairo to discuss recent developments including elections.

The delegation was led by Hussam Badran, head of Hamas’s National Relations Office and a member of its political bureau, according to a statement on its Telegram channel.

Hamas officials met representatives of Palestinian Islamic Jihad and six other factions. Discussions covered developments in the Palestinian cause, particularly legislative and National Council elections, and ways to strengthen national unity.

The parties agreed to work on a unified national strategy to “confront the occupation, settlement, Judaization, displacement, and annexation, end the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, and strengthen the resilience of the Palestinian people”, it said.

Iran, Muslim World League condemn Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, calling for international accountability as the UN General Assembly convenes in New York this week.

In a statement, the ministry accused Israel of “genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity” in Gaza, citing mass casualties, starvation, and the detention of Palestinians. It also condemned recent Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque

The ministry called for immediate action to halt the violence and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Muslim World League, an international non-governmental organization, also issued a statement strongly condemning the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. It denounced the “provocative practices” that it said inflame the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

The statements came after Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir entered the Al Aqsa compound under heavy police protection and performed Jewish religious rituals there. Under a decades-old arrangement, the Al-Aqsa compound is administered by a Jordanian religious foundation, and non-Muslims may visit but not pray there.

Ben-Gvir had conducted a similar incursion on August 31.

Arab League condemns Israeli forces, Ben-Gvir’s storming Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Arab League has condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem by Israeli forces, far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and settlers on Sunday.

In a statement issued on Monday, the group rejected “any violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic holy sites, or any attempt to alter their existing historical and legal status”.

It stressed the need to respect Jordan’s custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Ben-Gvir entered the mosque courtyard alongside thousands of settlers backed by Israeli forces on Sunday, in the second such violation in recent weeks.

Palestine denounces Israeli designation of West Bank shrine as ‘archaeological site’

The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has condemned Israel’s announcement that a shrine in the occupied West Bank is an archaeological site under Israeli jurisdiction.

The ministry said the Maqam Banat Yaqub shrine, in the Artah suburb south of Tulkarem, sits on endowment land and the decision is part of a broader policy of seizing Palestinian property to serve Israeli expansionist and settlement plans.

Jordan oversees religious sites through the Waqf Council according to a 1967 status quo agreement with Israel.

The ministry called on international and human rights institutions to intervene urgently to protect Waqf-governed sites. Israeli authorities also posted similar notices for areas south and east of Tulkarem.

Israel has increasingly used archaeological designations to seize West Bank land, declaring over 2,400 areas as “Israeli” since 1967.

Israeli forces arrest 6 Palestinians in occupied West Bank

Israeli forces have raided homes in the Tulkarem governorate of the occupied West Bank this morning and arrested five people, including three former prisoners, Wafa reports.

It said Israeli forces arrested a sixth Palestinian in the city of Hebron, where they set up checkpoints and blocked several roads.

They also raided the village of Burqa, north of Nablus, and searched several homes. Our colleagues on the ground also say Israeli troops have stormed the city of Salfit.

Israeli troops continue incursion in Jerusalem governorate after shooting

Israeli forces continue raids in Biddu, northwest of occupied East Jerusalem, after an attacker allegedly from the town killed an Israeli settler.

Biddu Mayor Nazmi Mansour told Al Jazeera that Israeli soldiers “have turned several homes into detention centers and are interrogating dozens of young men”.

Jerusalem governorate said at least 53 Palestinians are being detained and there’s been vandalism and destruction inside raided homes.

The assault comes after a Palestinian from the town killed an Israeli settler near the illegal settlement of Halamish, northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, on Sunday.

Mansour said Israeli forces have “have abused and assaulted a number of citizens during the ongoing raids and searches”. Schools are closed and residents are staying in their homes.

Israel urged to release journalist held in solitary confinement for a month

Palestinian prisoners’ rights groups have called on Israel to release Palestinian journalist Bushra al-Tawil saying she’s been held in solitary confinement for nearly a month.

The organisations accused Israeli authorities of intensifying the isolation of female detainees during an unchecked scabies outbreak in prisons.

Al-Tawil, 33, has been held under “administrative detention” – which allows Israel to detain Palestinians without charge, often on secret evidence – since February and was moved to Neve Tirtza jail after being held in isolation at Damon prison.

The groups said al-Tawil is among 21 women held under administrative detention out of 88 Palestinian women currently in Israeli custody. Those held include two pregnant women.

A scabies outbreak has also spread among female prisoners.

Israeli forces threaten home demolitions after deadly West Bank attack

Palestinians living in Biddu say Israeli soldiers continue raids and are conducting field interrogations to remind people if anyone is considering an attack against Israelis their entire town will pay the price.

Israeli troops are going from home to home sometimes ransacking them. This is the third incursion since the attack on Biddu started following news that the suspected perpetrator of an attack that killed an Israeli settler originated from the town.

Soldiers took measurements of the man’s house saying they will demolish it soon.

There was also a reminder from Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir saying Israel passed a capital punishment law and it will be used against the suspect, who is receiving treatment in a hospital after being wounded during his arrest on Sunday.

Israeli forces also raided a building with more than 75 apartments and issued a demolition threat to residents, telling them to leave in one week. The reason was because a member of Hamas – who served as finance minister 20 years ago – lives in that building. It goes to show how Israel is continuing its policy of collective punishment.

It’s less than 40 days before Israeli elections, and politicians are lobbying to get more votes. Cracking down on Palestinians usually helps in that regard.

Hamas condemns Israeli closure of Ibrahimi Mosque to Muslim worshippers

Hamas has denounced Israel’s closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron to Muslim worshippers during Jewish holidays and its opening to illegal settlers in the occupied West Bank.

A statement published on its official Telegram channel described the move as “a blatant assault on the sanctity and identity of the mosque”, and part of what the Palestinian group called a “systematic policy” targeting Islamic holy sites.

Hamas warned against continued Israeli violations at the Ibrahimi Mosque and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and called on powers in the Arab and Islamic world to take urgent action to protect religious sites in occupied Palestine.

The closure, which began Sunday afternoon coincided with Yom Kippur, and marked its second shutdown by Israel in less than a week.

Israeli forces cut off access around Ramallah

Israeli forces tightened military controls around Ramallah and al-Bireh in the occupied West Bank late on Monday, closing several roads and entrances to the areas.

Sources told Al Jazeera that Israeli forces closed the entrance to Turmus Ayya north of Ramallah in both directions and set up a military checkpoint at the entrance to Nabi Saleh, a village northwest of the city.

Witnesses say the Israelis then searched Palestinian-owned vehicles.

Separately, Israeli forces also established a checkpoint at the entrance to Jaba and Ein Sinya north of Ramallah to allow access to groups of settlers gathered below the Yabrud Bridge east of Ramallah.

Armed Israeli settlers attack Palestinian homes near Ramallah

Israeli settlers have attacked Palestinian homes in Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

The report added that armed settlers tried to break into several homes in the occupied West Bank town. They were guarded by Israeli soldiers, who shot at Palestinians who came to confront the attackers.

Separately, a convoy of army vehicles has raided Silwad, a town east of Ramallah, and set up a security checkpoint.
