Two Palestinian women shot by Israeli forces at Gaza’s Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps

At least two women have been injured by Israeli gunfire in the Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip, reported Wafa.

The Palestinian news agency said the Al-Awda Medical Complex in Nuseirat reported the arrival of two injured women after Israeli forces fired at tents for displaced persons.

Third person injured in Israeli drone attack on Gaza’s Bureij camp

A third person has been injured by live fire from Israeli drones in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, according to the Palestinian news agency, Wafa.

Earlier, we reported that two women had been injured in the attack.

Wafa’s correspondent said the drones fired live ammunition at civilians and displaced people’s tents in the camp, wounding a young man and the two women – one of whom was shot in the neck and whose condition was described as serious.

The injured have been taken to the al-Awda Medical Complex in Nuseirat, Wafa said.

Gaza building collapse rescuers working ‘with one hand tied behind their back’: ICRC spokesperson

Pat Griffiths, spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Israel and the Occupied Territories, said that search and rescue workers in Gaza are doing an almost impossible job when confronted with building collapses in the territory.

Griffiths said teams were working “with one hand tied behind their back” as Israel continues to prevent supplies and machinery from entering the Strip.

“More heavy machinery needs to be able to enter Gaza, more equipment, more materials,” said Griffiths.

The ICRC was called to assist the operation on Wednesday, the day of the collapse.

“We were lucky that we were able to source some of these materials on the local market,” said Griffiths.

“We were lucky that some of the excavators were already supporting these search and recovery teams, were available to help on the day.”

One killed, child critically injured in Israeli strike on motorcycle in Gaza City

One killed, several injured — including a child in critical condition — after the Israeli army bombed a motorcycle in the Al-Taqwa camp in Gaza’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, according to official Palestinian news agency, Wafa.

Wafa’s correspondent, citing medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital, identified the victim as Hudhaifa Awad.

Gaza residents face dangerous shelter as access to more than half of Strip is restricted

Displaced Palestinians in Gaza say they remain in dangerous structures because they have no alternative shelter. Access to more than half of the Strip is restricted, preventing people from returning to their homes and their land.

Housing and construction materials are also being blocked from entering Gaza, making it difficult for residents to rebuild.

The appalling conditions in which the population of Gaza is still forced to live—or at least those who have survived so far—can all be traced back to that single order issued by the then-Israeli Minister of 'Defense', Yoav Gallant: "No food. No water. No electricity. No medicine and no fuel. We are fighting human animals."

As we began to follow the ensuing developments, we discovered an underlying strategy that went far beyond Gallant's words. It turned out to be a strategy that had long been ready for implementation. A strategy complete with a highly fragmented map of Gaza—something we recognized as a vision of dystopian terror.

There is no such thing as a so-called war against Hamas, because the group rarely reveals what it is doing or plans to do. Nor do they often announce whether or not they are engaged in heavy fighting with the Israelis.

For their part, the Israelis report only what they claim to have achieved, not what else they have done.

Smotrich repeats call to replicate West Bank colony policies in further areas

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has vowed to expand Israel’s West Bank colony policies to northern and southern Israel, in response to an alleged espionage case reported by Israeli media.

“It’s time to bring the revolution in Judea and Samaria to the Galilee and the Negev, in order to save the State of Israel from the next October 7,” Smotrich said on X, referring to Judea and Samaria to mean the West Bank, and Negev for southern Israel, and Galilee for the north.

These two areas in Israel are where Palestinian Arab and Jewish populations overlap, and where Smotrich said he seeks Jewish supremacy through new colonies.

Smotrich mentioned that in the town of Majd al-Krum people chanted “Long live Palestine” this week, echoing fears of a domestic attack. “There are forces there that see the State of Israel as an enemy that must be fought”, the minister wrote.

Earlier this year, Smotrich said he was being pursued by the International Criminal Court who he said have issued a warrant for his arrest.

Congresswoman denounces Israeli colony expansion project

US Representative Delia Ramirez has responded to reports that Israel is tripling its E1 colony, which would cut deeper into the occupied West Bank.

“Palestine belongs to Palestinians. Not to developers and Israeli colonists. Period,” said Ramirez, a Democrat.

She urged US lawmakers to use their power to end military support to Israel.

E1 (East 1) would link Ma’ale Adumim and other illegal Israeli colonies to occupied East Jerusalem, effectively severing the West Bank in two. Both supporters and critics agree that the colony would end the possibility of a Palestinian state.

Happened in the occupied West bank

Israeli forces and colonists have carried out raids, arrests and attacks across the occupied West Bank on Thursday, according to the Wafa news agency.

Here are some of the reported incidents:

• A Palestinian was shot in the foot during a raid on Qalqilya, while another person with a disability was treated for tear gas inhalation.
• Israeli forces have arrested at least 23 Palestinians in Hajjah, east of Qalqilya, and detained journalist Alaa Hassan al-Rimawi after raiding his home in Ramallah.
• Two Palestinians have been injured after being beaten by Israeli forces during a raid on the Ein refugee camp near Nablus. Soldiers also detained residents and converted homes in Nablus and Tulkarem into military posts.
• Colonists have attacked Palestinians and damaged 50 olive trees near Hebron, set fire to agricultural land in Burqa and damaged vehicles near Asira ash-Shamaliya.
• Israeli authorities are preparing to accept bids for 2,167 colony units in the E1 project between occupied East Jerusalem and the Maale Adumim colony.

US senator demands immediate release of detained West Bank American journalist

Israeli forces detained West Bank journalist Naqaa Hamed on Tuesday at the Tuqu checkpoint located in Bethlehem as she was on her way back from a reporting assignment, according to her sister and a colleague.

Israeli media reported that Hamed was being detained for “cooperating with an enemy entity and may also be under suspicion of espionage”, though no official statement has come directly from Israeli forces. Hamed previously worked for Press TV, an English-speaking Iranian network, as their West Bank correspondent.

Many have come out to condemn the arrest, including the Committee to Protect Journalists, an independent organization that promotes press freedom, claiming that “unsubstantiated espionage allegations must not be used to criminalize journalism”.

US Senator Chris Van Hollen also took to X to call for her immediate release, saying that Hamed was “wrongfully detained”.

“Naqaa Hamed, an American journalist, was stopped by the [Israeli army], interrogated about her work, & now faces bogus espionage allegations,” he said.

Amnesty official condemns US decision to bar Palestinian delegation from UN General Assembly

Amnesty International’s senior director for research, advocacy, policy, and campaigns, Erika Guevara Rosas, has said that the United States has barred a high-level Palestinian delegation from attending the UN General Assembly in New York for the second consecutive year.

In a post on X, Guevara Rosas said that the decision is designed to punish Palestine for pursuing justice and accountability before international courts, describing the move as “part of a relentless campaign of reprisals against the very notion of international justice, and a dangerous abuse of the USA privilege as host of the UN”.

Guevara Rosas further stressed that the action undermines international law and the multilateral system, adding that the US “must reverse this decision” and that international justice “must not be held hostage to political power”.

Palestine rejects US visa restrictions on officials and PLO members

Palestine’s Foreign Ministry has rejected the United States’ decision to extend visa restrictions on Palestinian Authority (PA) officials and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) members.

In a post on X, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Palestine’s minister of foreign affairs, said the State of Palestine “firmly rejects US extension of visa restrictions against Palestinian officials and PLO members”, adding that these measures “undermine peace and a two-state solution”.

The Trump administration denied the visas for a high-level Palestinian delegation to attend the annual United Nations General Assembly next week, for the second year in a row.

The US State Department justified its decision by alleging that Palestinian officials, including PA President Mahmoud Abbas, had failed to live up to their commitments to seek peace with Israel and had continued to pursue legal action against it.

Israeli forces launch dawn raids across occupied West Bank towns

Israeli forces have stormed the Jalazone refugee camp, the Umm ash-Sharayet neighborhood in el-Bireh city, and the town of al-Mazra’a al-Gharbiya northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank at dawn, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reports.

According to local sources, soldiers stormed the Jalazone camp as they fired toxic gas canisters. Sound bombs were also fired during the raid in Umm ash-Sharayet.

Soldiers also stormed the town of al-Mazra’a al-Gharbiya and raided a number of houses. So far, no arrests have been reported from the operations.

At the same time, five Palestinians were injured after Israeli colonists attacked their vehicle with stones near the entrance to the village of Ein Yabrud, east of Ramallah. Quoting local sources, Wafa said colonists attacked the vehicle with stones near the village entrance known as Yabrud Bridge, causing it to overturn and leading to the injuries.

Israeli forces arrest several Palestinians across the occupied West Bank

Israeli forces stormed the town of Zaatara, east of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank, and arrested a young man before releasing him this morning, Wafa has reported.

The Palestinian news agency also said that soldiers arrested two people from the Hebron Governorate after raiding several neighborhoods there. Four people, including a father and his son, were arrested from the Nablus Governorate at dawn.

Israelis colonists fire live ammunition in area of Beita, attack barn belonging to farmer

Israeli colonists have launched attacks on an area called Abu al-Hamra in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Wafa News Agency reports.

Local sources told Wafa News that a group of colonists attacked an industrial facility and a barn belonging to a farmer named Samer Abu Mazen, firing live ammunition in the area. No injuries have been reported yet.

Armed Israeli colonists attack and abuse farmers north of Hebron

Armed Israeli colonists have attacked and assaulted farmers in the Wadi al-Shanar area, north of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, Wafa reports.

The Palestinian news agency said a group of colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, abused and detained several farmers as they were attempting to access their land in the area, east of the town of Halhul.

The area is under particular threat from colony expansion and is constantly subjected to colonist attacks, Wafa noted, reporting an increase in the theft and destruction of crops, the uprooting and smashing of fruit trees, as well as demolitions and bulldozing of Palestinian land in the area in recent months.
