Israeli army says it hits Hamas ‘weapons site’ in Gaza

The Israeli army has claimed attacks in Gaza that it says targeted a “Hamas weapons manufacturing site” and its “commander”.

At least one person was reported killed and many others injured in Israeli strikes on a warehouse near the Maghazi refugee camp on Salah al-Din Street in central Gaza.

Israel’s army said in a statement that the “weapons site” was established near an aid distribution point “operated by an international organisation”.

The army identified the alleged Hamas commander as Ismail Abu Ful, who, it said, “manufactured explosives and anti-tank rockets”.

The attack, which followed an Israeli forced displacement order, was one of several strikes on Gaza on Sunday.

At least three people, including a four-year-old, were killed across the Strip, and several more were injured.

Seven injured in two waves of Israeli drone attacks on Khan Younis

Seven Palestinians, including a child, have been injured in two waves of Israeli drone-fired missile attacks on Khan Younis, southern Gaza, according to the Wafa news agency.

The strike targeted a tent near the Al-Albani Mosque, the agency reported.

Earlier this evening, four people were injured by Israeli drone fire in an area outside Israeli-controlled areas in Khan Younis.

Gaza will not return to pre-October 7 situation: Israeli PM

Netanyahu says he will intensify attacks on areas in Gaza where attacks are taking place against Israeli forces.

Netanyahu was quoted in a statement published by his office as saying Israel will order the forced displacement of Palestinians from areas in Gaza used to “launch drones, balloons and kites”.

“We warn Hamas that if the launches toward Israel do not cease immediately, the [Israeli army] will intensify its operations against those responsible,” he said.

Netanyahu made it clear that Gaza and Israel will not return to the situation before October 7, 2023, the day Hamas-led fighters attacked southern Israel and Israel began its genocidal war on Gaza.

Aid reaching Gaza meets just up to 30 percent of population’s basic needs

About 77 trucks carrying an estimated 800 tons of humanitarian supplies have entered Gaza over the past few days.

The arrival of the much-needed supplies comes as Rafaat al-Majdalawi, the head of the Palestinian NGO Network, says that Gaza is facing a deliberate policy of starvation due to severe restrictions placed by Israel on humanitarian aid entering the enclave.

He said the aid reaching Gaza meets only 20 percent to 30 percent of the population’s basic needs.

Al-Majdalawi said that about 30 percent of incoming trucks are destined for the private sector, while only 60 to 80 trucks carrying food and shelter aid enter Gaza each day.

Hamas accuses Israel of using children’s kites as pretext for Gaza strikes

Hamas has accused Israel of fabricating a pretext to escalate attacks on Gaza after Israel threatened strikes over kites flown by Palestinian children with spokesperson Hazem Qassem saying in a statement on the group’s website that the move is “threatening children”.

He called on the US, mediating and guarantor states, and the UN Security Council to pressure Israel to halt its escalation in Gaza, which he said is an attempt to unravel a ceasefire that the Palestinian side remains “fully committed to”.

Earlier, Netanyahu’s office gave Hamas a three-day deadline to stop kites from flying, threatening a broad air assault and forced displacements from the areas they’re flown from after several kites landed near Nahal Oz, a settlement bordering Gaza.

Defense Minister Israel Katz called the launches an “act of war”, comparing them to drones: “A balloon is like a kite, and a kite is like a drone whether it carries explosives or not.” He said Israel would target Hamas commanders “responsible for the launches”.

Kites can hinder Israeli surveillance drones, and even bringing them off course or down when in collision with small drones, which the Israelis are also using in Gaza.

Egypt intelligence chief, Palestinian Authority delegation meet in Cairo

Egypt’s General Intelligence Service chief, Hassan Rashad, has met with a Palestinian Authority (PA) delegation led by Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh to discuss unifying efforts related to Palestine, according to Egyptian government broadcaster Al-Qahera News.

Palestinian National Council Speaker Rawhi Fattouh and Palestinian intelligence chief Majed Faraj also attended the meeting. Attendees agreed on the need to unify efforts to address challenges facing the Palestinian cause, and discussed developments in the occupied West Bank and the upcoming Palestinian electoral process, according to the report.

The talks came a day after Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty spoke by phone with Al-Sheikh about the escalating illegal Israeli settlement activity in the occupied West Bank, including the E1 project east of Jerusalem, as well as efforts to advance the 15-point Gaza agreement signed last year by Hamas and Israel.

The diplomatic push coincides with a sharp rise in illegal Israeli settlement activity and settler violence in the West Bank. Israel has opened bidding for 1,234 new housing units in the E1 area, part of a wider 3,401-unit plan linking East Jerusalem with the Israeli Maale Adumim settlement. The UN Human Rights Office said this month that settler violence against Palestinians had reached intolerable levels.

Six Palestinian detainees transferred from Israeli detention into Gaza

The Red Cross has facilitated the transfer of six Palestinians held in Israeli prisons to Gaza, the Wafa news agency reports.

The detainees were transferred from the Karem Abu Salem (known in Israel as Kerem Shalom) crossing to Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis. They were then reunited with their families.

The Red Cross said it has facilitated the transfer of more than 2,700 detainees released into Gaza since 2023, noting that it had not been able to access detainees in Israeli detention centers since the October 7, 2023, attacks.

The organization has stressed the need to be informed of the fate and whereabouts of all Palestinians in Israeli detention facilities and to be granted the right to access them.

Israeli air strikes near Gaza hospital wound several people

Israeli aircraft have struck a tent encampment sheltering displaced Palestinians near Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza, wounding several people, according to our colleagues on the ground.

The Israeli air force has also carried out two air strikes in the vicinity of the hospital in Deir el-Balah, one of the last functioning medical facilities in the area.

How ‘hollow’ European condemnations empower Israel

Israel does not care what Europeans say or about their condemnation, says former Israeli diplomat Alon Pinkas.

“They don’t care [about condemnations]. In fact, it’s the exact opposite,” Pinkas said.

“These condemnations allow this particular government to claim one of its trademark arguments: ‘The world is against us, everyone is anti-Semitic, there is an anti-Israel atmosphere and environment. They all hate us,’” he explained.

Pinkas’s comments follow a joint statement issued on Thursday by a group of European nations and Canada in which they criticised Israel’s “E1” colony project and warned of “legal and reputational consequences”.

Pinkas, who served as Israel’s consul general in New York from 2000 to 2004, said: “As long as it is confined to rhetoric and hollow condemnations, whether [by] parliaments or foreign ministries throughout the European Union, the Israeli government does not care.”

That is what we've been looking for years, as no single 'condemnation' brought change in the West Bank. We have learn the Israelis as those who just put more escalation to every condemnation or criticism that comes from Europe. It's their way of humiliating the EU collectively.

The only solution that will work is ending all diplomatic relation, stop all trades, not just from the West Bank, and send home their representatives, and banning activities in each of the EU member states which are linked to them even via third parties. If they de-recognize the Palestinians to exist, it must be the Israelis too.

Defending their right to exist on ancient biblical grounds, while erasing the grounds the Palestinians have since 670 BC, the Israeli politics is the same ISIL wanted to achieve.

Israel bars two Swedish MEPs from entering over ‘anti-Israel activity’

Israel will deny entry to two Swedish European Parliament members (MEPs), The Times of Israel reported, citing the Foreign Ministry.

At the request of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, the Population and Immigration Authority will bar Jonas Sjostedt and Hanna Gedin, both members of Sweden’s Left Party, under Israel’s entry law, the ministry said.

The two, who were due to arrive in Israel later on Sunday and planned to visit the occupied West Bank, “have consistently acted against Israel in recent years”, the ministry said, adding that they had “called for the advancement of international legal proceedings against Israelis”.

Israeli colonists steal Palestinian property near West Bank village of Abu Falah: Local media

A group of Israeli colonists have stolen Palestinian property from a community near the village of Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to the Quds News Network.

Footage shared by the outlet shows several people on a truck appearing to tow the property away from the area.

Elsewhere in the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces stormed the city of Qalqilya, according to the outlet.

Dutch protesters rally outside distribution centre handling Israeli colony goods

Protesters gathered earlier outside a Dutch distribution centre handling Israeli colony goods, voicing their support for a ban on goods from illegal Israeli colonies in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The Israel Product Center is run by Christians for Israel, a Dutch Evangelical organization that a recent study found has been donating millions of dollars to the colonies.

“We can hardly believe that people are still selling things, products that are made on taken land. It’s land that is occupied,” one protester, Marij Van Deutekom, said.

The Netherlands is one of four EU countries imposing a ban on trade with illegal Israeli colonies. Spain already bans such products, while Ireland and Belgium have adopted legislation for a trade ban. The EU as a bloc has postponed a decision on its own measures to later this year.

The Dutch ban is due to take effect on September 22nd.

We don't believe that the Dutch government's ban will work, as products from the West Bank because all products from the West Bank are labeled "Made In Israel" noting that the labeling reflects even the recent Israeli claim that all Palestinian villages, towns and cities are "Israeli."

In our research on olive oil products, we found on the internet 100 bottles containing olive oil, labeled "Made In Palestine" but sold by businesses linked to colonists in the West Bank.

The Netherlands should ban all that comes from the Israelis.

Israeli colonists now living in 592 illegal West Bank colonies, outposts: Palestinian commission

There are now 592 illegal Israeli colonies and outposts in the occupied West Bank where more than 700,000 colonists live, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, a Palestinian government body.

As of the end of July, 780,000 Israeli colonists lived in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to the commission, with 336,000 living in the city.

Israel controls 42 percent of the occupied West Bank, the commission added.

Palestinian envoy calls Israel’s E1 colony plan ‘deliberate policy’

Israel’s E1 coloy plans are not an aberration but the product of a deliberate Israeli policy, says Palestinian ambassador to the Netherlands, Ammar Hijazi.

The plan could reshape the occupied West Bank before October’s election in Israel by dividing it into two, plans include the construction of more than 1,200 houses.

Hijazi told Al Jazeera it’s “hard to imagine” Israel will hold back on E1 after imposing a death sentence only for Palestinians, the genocidal war on Gaza and the ongoing colonist violence in the West Bank.

“We already have 700,000 plus colonists living in the occupied territory,” Hijazi said, while noting that recent European condemnation statements have become stronger. “This needs to be followed by action.”

Some Western countries have threatened sanctions if Israel goes ahead with the coloy proposal.

Former Israeli envoy says E1 coloy plan is political rhetoric

The E1 coloy project is more rhetorical than practical due to Israel’s October elections, says Alon Pinkas, a former Israeli ambassador and consul general in New York.

He told Al Jazeera that dividing the West Bank through a project like the E1 coloy “has been a dream of several Israeli prime ministers to create an irreversible, geographical, topographical, demographic reality in which a Palestinian state is no longer viable”.

Pinkas believes that eliminating the idea of a Palestinian state “is catastrophic for both sides” because there is no clear idea about what an alternative would look like in reality.

Colonies have increased dramatically in the past few years. From 1967 to 2022, 127 colonies were approved while 104 colonies were approved in the past four years.

“I doubt that the world will tolerate an Israeli annexation, certainly on a large scale. These condemnations allow this particular government to claim one of its trademark arguments, that ‘The world is against us. Everyone is anti-Semitic,’” he said.

Israeli forces chasing stabbing attack suspect in occupied West Bank

The Israeli army says a suspect is being pursued after a stabbing attack in the village of al-Auja in the Jericho governorate of the occupied West Bank.

“Security blockades have been established on the nearby roads and in the area,” the brief update said, without giving details on potential casualties.

The Israeli armed belligerent is a occupying belligerent in the West Bank.

If they protect only their own but illegally transferred people, which is a violation of Belligerent Occupation, and the 4th Geneva Convention, while creating threats themselves to provoke response, is deliberately luring people under land annexation to the exposure danger to life.

If the occupying belligerent continues to refuse to fulfill its obligation to protect the people they de facto want to get rid of them, the people have the right to take up arms to resist what is de facto annexation, no longer occupation.

• Israeli forces raided al-Auja, north of Jericho, on the pretext that a stabbing had occurred near the village. The head of the village council said the army blocked the entrances to the village, preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving, and forced shop owners to close their establishments.
• They arrested a Palestinian after storming the towns and villages of Beita, Tal and Beit Dajan, south of Nablus, and seized two vehicles from Tal.
• Israeli colonists continue to lay siege to three houses in Qusra, south of Nablus, for a 15th consecutive day, while the army has been preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving the area. Israeli forces have converted one of the homes into a military barracks.
• Israeli colonists have uprooted olive and grape plantations from Palestinian lands in the village of al-Maniya, east of Bethlehem.
• They also set fire to a room and vehicle in the town of Osarin, south of Nablus, as well as wrote racist slogans at the site.

Pregnant Palestinian detainees face harsh conditions in Israeli prison, office says

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office says pregnant detainees in Israel’s Damon Prison are facing severe health and living conditions, including inadequate medical care, poor nutrition and the confiscation of clothing and personal hygiene supplies.

It said Manar Ibrahim Karaja, who is five months pregnant, has not had a pregnancy check-up since July 8. The office said that for more than two months, the mother of two has also suffered from severe itching and skin lesions resembling symptoms of scabies.

The office said that Karaja’s weight fell from 60kg before pregnancy to 54kg within 20 days of her detention and has since risen only to 57kg, attributing it to poor-quality food lacking nutrients needed during pregnancy.

The office also mentioned pregnant detainee Dana Joudeh, who is due to enter her ninth month of pregnancy in early September, raising concerns over her health. It called for urgent and regular medical examinations, adequate nutrition and hygiene supplies, and for Karaja to receive dermatological treatment and hospital-based pregnancy monitoring without delay.

IRGC’s Qaani says Palestinian cause ‘more alive and attainable than ever’

IRGC Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani says the goal of a Palestine “from the sea to the river” is “more alive and attainable than ever before”, according to Iran’s Fars news agency.

Qaani said the expansion of illegal colonies and what he called Israeli “crimes” were attempts to escape a “deep military, security, political and social crisis”.

He said those actions could not conceal what he described as the “strategic defeats” Israel has suffered since October 2023.

“The ideal of Palestine is alive and unchanging,” Qaani said, adding that it would remain so “until the victory of justice is achieved”.

Araghchi praises Lebanese resistance against Israel’s ‘barbaric aggressions’

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has reaffirmed his country’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty at a meeting in Tehran with Hassan Fadlallah, a Hezbollah representative in the Lebanese parliament.

In a post on Telegram, Araghchi “praised the resistance and honourable resilience of the people of Lebanon in the face of the barbaric aggressions” by Israeli forces.

Fadlallah, for his part, “stressed the need for Islamic countries to adopt a unified and firm stance to confront Israeli ambitions and crimes in Lebanon, Gaza, and the West Bank”.

Israeli forces, colonists carry out raids across occupied West Bank

Israeli forces and colonists have carried out raids, arrests and restrictions across the occupied West Bank, according to Wafa:

• In Qalqilya, Israeli forces arrested six Palestinians.
  Israeli forces raided Beita, Tell and Beit Dajan, arresting one Palestinian and seizing two vehicles, while colonists installed two additional caravans in Burin.
• In Qusra, colonists continued to besiege three Palestinian homes for the 15th day, leaving families facing water shortages as access remains restricted.
• Israeli forces also closed the entrances to al-Auja, north of Jericho and raised an Israeli flag over the minaret of Abu Ubaida Mosque in the Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarem.
• Colonists raised an Israeli flag at a Palestinian family property in the northern Jordan Valley.

Activist’s alarm over detained Palestinian doctor’s health, arrests for online posts

Concerns are growing about the health of a Palestinian doctor arrested by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank earlier this week, says Yavir Dvir, spokesperson for the Israeli human rights organisation B’Tselem.

He said that Dr Dima Amin, a 55-year-old gynaecologist with no criminal or security record, was arrested at her home in Ramallah during a military raid, reportedly in connection with her Facebook posts.

During her detention, she suffered a heart attack and was taken to hospital for treatment but quickly returned to the detention centre.

She is due to appear before a judge tomorrow, who may sentence her to an Israeli prison, said Dvir.

“What’s been reported is that her detention relates to Facebook posts… what Israel says is that her posts on social media show that she may be dangerous.”

This isn’t the first time that Israel has arrested Palestinians over social media posts, Dvir said, adding that in many cases the posts simply express “some sympathy with the children of Gaza and that was enough for the Israelis to arrest them”.

This is a “pattern and it’s one with a very strict goal, which is to silence Palestinians and to frighten Palestinians from talking or expressing themselves”.

Israeli military says teenager apprehended in Israeli stabbing case

The Israeli army says it has apprehended one person in connection with the stabbing of an Israeli man near the Palestinian village of al-Auja in the Jordan Valley.

Israeli publications reported that a 16-year-old was arrested.

A manhunt ensued after the stabbing of a man identified in Israeli news outlets as a 24-year-old off-duty member of the military. Israeli reports said he was “moderately wounded” in the stabbing.

According to international law, people under occupation, actually de faction annexation, have the right to take up arms to resist the before mentioned, in particular when the belligerent has been refusing to protect the people form attacks by its own but illegally transferred people.

Newlywed Palestinian engineer shot by Israeli forces near West Bank’s Ramallah city

The Palestinian accused by the Israeli army of trying to seize a weapon from one of its soldiers near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank is 25-year-old engineer Aws Akram Matan.

That’s according to Palestinian sources and witnesses speaking to our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic.

They said the newlywed man, who was shot in the foot by Israeli forces, was travelling with his wife at the time of the confrontation.

The incident happened at the Karamelo roundabout, east of Ramallah.

Israeli forces fire tear gas at cars in occupied West Bank

Israeli forces have fired tear gas canisters at Palestinian-owned cars around the Ein Siniya village checkpoint, north of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank.

That’s according to reporting by the Wafa news agency.

Israeli soldiers on Sunday evening also closed the checkpoint, restricting vehicles from leaving Ramallah and causing traffic congestion.

Israeli colonists raid occupied West Bank village near Ramallah

Israeli colonists have raided Palestinian homes in the village of Burqa, near the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.

The village is increasingly surrounded by illegal Israeli outposts and restricted roads. Last week, colonists established a new illegal outpost there, according to our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic.

Israel removes Damascus Gate sign in occupied East Jerusalem

Israel has removed the Damascus Gate sign in occupied East Jerusalem’s Old City quarter, which includes the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, in a new attempt by Israeli forces targeting the area’s landmarks and identity.

The Damascus Gate is one of the main gates of the historic quarter occupied by Israeli forces since June 1967.

It is located in the wall on the city’s northwest side and connects to a highway leading out to Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli army damages vehicles in occupied West Bank

Israeli military vehicles have rammed into Palestinian-owned vehicles in Tulkarem, in the occupied West Bank, according to the Wafa news agency.

At least two vehicles were damaged in separate parts of the governorate. No injuries were reported.

Israeli forces also installed two mobile structures in the town of Beita, in southern Nablus, near a landfill they previously seized.
