More than 82 percent of Gaza’s families are water insecure, according to UNICEF, and nearly 90 percent of the territory’s water and sanitation infrastructure has been destroyed. But for children, the crisis has taken a daily physical toll.

Children are hauling containers of roughly 20 liters back to their family’s tent every time when a water truck arrives.

Doctors say the strain is producing injuries rarely seen in children before the war, including hernias and scoliosis.

US senator condemns Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir over comments on Gaza

US Senator Elissa Slotkin has condemned Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir over violent and dehumanizing comments about civilians in Gaza, calling his statements abhorrent and shameful.

Posting on X, Slotkin wrote: “Israel’s national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has once again made violent, dehumanizing comments about innocent civilians in Gaza. It is abhorrent and a shameful part of the Netanyahu government.”

“He should be long gone from any government role and publicly condemned by anyone who claims to care about civilians, Israeli or Palestinian, in the region,” she added.

Ben-Gvir’s comments calling for Israeli forces to kill 30 or 40 people in Gaza every night had drawn widespread global condemnation, with international officials and human rights groups denouncing the remarks.

Poland summons Israeli envoy over dropped probe into WCK aid worker deaths

Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has summoned the Israeli ambassador to Warsaw, expressing disappointment over Israel’s decision to close its investigation into the strike on a World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid convoy in Gaza in April 2024, which killed seven foreign aid workers, including Polish national Damian Sobol.

In a statement, the ministry conveyed its condemnation and rejection of the steps taken to date, demanding full clarification of the causes and circumstances surrounding the attack.

It noted that the case is also being investigated by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Przemysl, Sobol’s hometown, and stated that Poland expects Israel to provide Polish investigators with all requested explanations and evidence.

The ministry emphasized that the circumstances of the killings must be “fully clarified” and that it would not accept attempts by those responsible “to evade their legal and moral accountability”.

Canada calls Israel’s decision to close aid worker probe ‘unacceptable’

Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand has condemned Israel’s decision to drop a criminal probe into April 2024 strikes in Gaza that killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers, including Canadian citizen Jacob Flickinger.

In a statement, Anand called Israel’s move “unacceptable,” adding that there were “serious failures” in how Israel conducted the strike.

“Canada expects international humanitarian law to be upheld and will continue pressing for a full accounting of what happened, along with justice for the seven workers who were killed and their families,” Anand added.

The Voice of Hind Rajab director dismisses Israel’s move to investigate killing of Palestinian girl

Filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, who directed The Voice of Hind Rajab – an Academy Award-nominated docudrama detailing the killing of Hind Rajab in Gaza, has dismissed Israel’s decision to investigate the six-year-old’s murder.

“This announcement is a smokescreen,” the filmmaker said in a statement on Instagram, adding that Israel was conducting a “public relations operation.”

“For more than two years, the evidence has been there: independent investigations, satellite imagery, ballistic analysis,” she said.

“And there was the most devastating evidence of all: Hind’s own voice, describing the Israeli tanks circling around her. What more did we need?”

Ben Hania accused Israel of only choosing to investigate the killing because of international pressure. What is needed now, she added, is “justice…for Hind and for all the victims of the genocide in Gaza.”

Australia, Canada and UK condemn Israel’s decision to close probe into World Central Kitchen attack

The foreign ministries of Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom have condemned Israel’s decision not to pursue criminal investigations into the April 2024 attack on a World Central Kitchen convoy in Gaza, calling the move “shameful”.

In a joint statement, the three governments said announcing the decision on World Humanitarian Day was “particularly egregious”, adding that the seven aid workers killed in the Israeli strikes and their families “deserve justice and accountability”.

They said the World Central Kitchen attack was one of “countless incidents” in Gaza where there had been no accountability and called on Israel to comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law and ensure humanitarian workers can operate safely.

Turkiye seeks Interpol red notice for Netanyahu over Gaza flotilla case

Turkiye has requested an Interpol red notice for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Afek Moskovitch over the Gaza-bound Global Freedom Flotilla case, Justice Minister Akın Gurlek said in a post on X.

Gurlek said arrest warrants were issued for the two on July 14 on charges including “genocide”, and that the Interior Ministry had been asked to initiate the international search process.

He said the case before Istanbul’s 11th Heavy Penal Court involves 35 defendants and relates to the armed intervention against civilians delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza in international waters.

Netanyahu and Moskovitch are also being tried on charges including crimes against humanity, torture, intentional injury, deprivation of liberty, property damage, aggravated robbery and hijacking of transport vehicles. No further information has been provided regarding Moskovitch.

“We will not allow the crimes committed in Gaza to be covered up or the perpetrators to be shielded by impunity,” Gurlek wrote on X.

Hamas says it remains committed to peace roadmap, urges mediator action

Hamas remains committed to President Donald Trump’s 15-point peace roadmap and is looking forward to the mediators and the Board of Peace, led by President Trump, making it happen, senior Hamas official Basem Naim told CNN.

“We are still ready to continue this way to give our people on the ground the chance to revive their life, and to reach the minimum of calm, stability and peace,” Naim added.

In his interview with CNN, Naim said that Board of Peace mediators and US adviser Jared Kushner had asked Hamas to be “sensitive” to Benjamin Netanyahu’s political standing ahead of Israel’s upcoming election regarding the agreed Gaza road map.

“It is not my duty as a Palestinian to take care of the sensitivity of the timing of the deal for Netanyahu,” Naim said. “We have heard this from Mr Kushner and the other members of the delegation, that you have to keep in mind that Netanyahu is now passing through a very delicate time.”

Naim pointed out that Israel has fulfilled none of its obligations under the ceasefire, including providing humanitarian aid, and has instead escalated attacks in Gaza since Hamas and the board agreed on a framework covering weapons decommissioning and Israeli withdrawal.

“As a Palestinian, I am not in a position to pay the price from the bodies and blood and the lives of our people in order to secure the victory of Netanyahu’s election,” he said.

Israeli army says Hamas commander killed during an attack on Gaza

The Israeli military says it killed an alleged Hamas member during an attack on the Nuseirat area in Gaza on Wednesday.

In a post on Telegram, the army said it had killed Sabahi Sami Mahmoud Shahata, an alleged platoon commander in Hamas’s military wing, who had participated in the October 7, 2023 attack and held Israelis captive.

The army added that Sabahi had participated in the November 2023 handover ceremony as part of the captive release and their transfer to the Red Cross.

Hamas has yet to respond to the killing.

Israeli military claims killing of Palestinian who crossed ‘Yellow Line’ in Gaza

Israel’s military has said it shot and killed a Palestinian who crossed the so-called “Yellow Line” in Gaza.

“Earlier today, forces of the Givati Brigade operating in the southern Gaza Strip identified a terrorist who crossed the yellow line and approached the forces in a manner that posed an immediate threat to them,” it claimed, without providing evidence.

Israel has killed more than 1,200 Palestinians in Gaza since the “ceasefire” went into effect in October, 2025.

Jewish American activist barred by Israel calls colonist violence ‘state terror’

Jewish American activist Sam Sherman said that Israel barred him from re-entry because of his work with Palestinians facing colonist violence in the occupied West Bank.

Sherman says that he will not stop his activism. Israel has not provided an explanation for the decision.

Israel critic secures US House seat, defeating AIPAC-backed candidate

Aisha Wahab, an Afghan American who was the first Muslim woman in the California state Senate and an outspoken critic of Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza, has won the special election for California’s 14th Congressional District.

She defeated transit official Melissa Hernandez to succeed former Congressman Eric Swalwell.

Wahab’s victory comes despite a massive influx of outside spending targeted at defeating her campaign.

Super PACs, primarily affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), poured millions into advertising that opposed Wahab and supported Hernandez in the campaign’s final weeks.

Among these, AIPAC’s United Democracy Project spent $1.2m in August alone to oppose Wahab, alongside another affiliated group that spent $1.7m on the race. Despite being heavily outspent, Wahab maintained her frontrunner status to secure the House seat.

UN’s Albanese condemns ongoing Israeli attacks on Palestine

Francesca Albanese, UN special rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territories, has once again condemned ongoing Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank and Gaza.

“The MOST IMMORAL ARMY strikes again. And again. And again. In the West Bank, soldiers and colonists cut water pipes, while Qusra’s siege continues,” she wrote on X, referring to the Israeli army.

“In Gaza the pulverization continues and so the massacres. Since the ceasefire Israel has killed 1,200+ people, including 300 children,” she added.

Israeli military says forces kill Palestinian in West Bank over alleged attack

The Israeli army says its forces shot and killed a Palestinian near Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank early Friday.

In a statement, the military claimed the Palestinian attempted to stab Israeli troops during a military operation before the soldiers opened fire and killed him.

Earlier, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its crews treated a 14-year-old boy who was shot with live ammunition in the chest and back during an Israeli raid near Jenin.

The boy was transferred to a hospital, it added.

According to health sources, the boy, identified as Fathi Khazem, was shot directly inside his home by Israeli forces after he resisted an arrest attempt.

The incident took place during a military raid in the al-Masarwa neighbourhood of central Jenin.

• The Israeli military transported mobile homes into the new “Doron” colony outpost on private land at Jabal Tarusa, west of Hebron, following a land-leveling operation.
• The Israeli army arrested more than 17 Palestinians across the Nablus, Bethlehem, Qalqilya, Salfit and Tulkarem governorates during home raids and incursions.
• The Israeli military demolished two inhabited homes in Beiten village, east of Ramallah, while colonists demolished agricultural barracks and plastic greenhouses in Kafr Sur, south of Tulkarem.
• For the 12th consecutive day, the Israeli military and colonists besieged three homes in Qusra, south of Nablus; the military turned one home into a military barracks, forcibly evacuating the family and throwing their belongings out of the windows.
• Armed colonists set fire to a home in Khallet al-Fara, west of Yatta, while a family of five slept inside. Colonists also stormed Khirbet Samra, in the northern Jordan Valley, harassing shepherds and seizing grazing land.
• Colonists stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, while the Israeli military imposed tight restrictions on Palestinian worshippers.
• “Temple groups”, alongside Knesset members and Israeli government ministers, have called for a rally in Jerusalem next Thursday demanding Al-Aqsa be reopened to colonist incursions on Saturdays.
• The Israeli military converted the former UNRWA school in the Shu’fat refugee camp into an Israeli Ministry of Education and Jerusalem Municipality school, removing UNRWA signage.
• The Israeli military obstructed Fatah Central Committee member and Ramallah/el-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam, confiscating her car keys after she attended a child’s funeral.

Israeli troops storm Tubas in West Bank, arrest resident

Israeli forces have arrested a 22-year-old man from the city of Tubas in the occupied West Bank following an overnight raid, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency.

Kamal Bani Odeh, director of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society in Tubas, said soldiers arrested Walid Mu’ayyad Sawafteh after entering his family’s home, according to the Wafa report.

It added that the arrest occurred after military vehicles entered the city and troops searched several local residences.

Israeli colonists continue siege of Qusra homes for 13th day

Israeli colonists have continued to besiege three Palestinian homes in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus, for a 13th consecutive day under the protection of Israeli forces, according to the Wafa news agency.

Qusra Mayor Abdel Azim Wadi said Israeli forces and colonists were preventing families in the Ras al-Ain area from entering or leaving their homes, while one of the houses had been seized and turned into a military post. The area has also been declared a closed military zone.

Wadi said the families were running short of food and medicine because Israeli forces were preventing supplies from reaching them.

On Thursday evening, Israeli forces destroyed furniture and other belongings inside the home they had converted into a military post, Wafa reported. The house belongs to Yousef Abdelsalam, who, along with his family, was forcibly removed and is now staying in another of the besieged homes.

Five Palestinians injured in settler attacks south of Hebron

At least five people have been injured and vehicles and equipment burned during an attack by Israeli colonists across areas south of Hebron, Wafa reports.

According to security sources, a group of armed colonists attacked homes with stones in the Deir Shams area south of Hebron, resulting in the injuries of five people. The colonists have also been accused of stealing a number of sheep.

The colonists also attacked an ambulance belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

Local activist Osama Makhamra told Wafa that a group of colonists stormed the home of Ibrahim al-Jabarin in the Shaab al-Batim area of Masafer Yatta and damaged his property, before the Israeli forces stormed the area and arrested al-Jabarin and his son Jibril.

Security sources added that soldiers stormed the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, and arrested three people after raiding their homes.

Palestinian health ministry says person killed in Hebron settler attack was a teenager

The Palestinian Health Ministry identified him as 17-year-old Karim Sand Shalaldeh, saying he died from gunshot wounds sustained during the attack.

Local sources told Wafa news agency that large groups of armed Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian homes in Khirbet Hamroush and opened live fire at residents, causing one of the homes to burn.

Shalaldeh was shot in the chest and initially listed in critical condition before his death was announced. A 70-year-old Palestinian man was also wounded by live fire in the same attack, according to Wafa.

Israeli forces arrest six Palestinians during Jenin raid

Israeli forces have arrested six people during a raid on the city of Jenin and its surroundings in the occupied West Bank, Wafa reports.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, Israeli forces arrested Ibrahim Al-Bitawi and his wife, after raiding their home in the vicinity of the Arab American University, to pressure his son Qais to surrender himself.

Soldiers also arrested Hassan Ibrahim Sayed, Nour Ahmed Abu Aziz, and Muhammad Farhan Saadi after raiding their homes in the eastern neighbourhood of Jenin city.

The released prisoner Muhammad Faris Jaradat was also re-arrested after his house was raided in the Al-Hadaf neighborhood in Jenin.

Israeli colonists target Palestinian vehicles on the outskirts of Al-Mughayyir village

Illegal Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian vehicles on the outskirts of Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, Wafa reports.

According to local sources, colonists threw stones at vehicles belonging to residents in “Sahl Si’a” west of the village, causing material damage to one of the vehicles.

At the same time, soldiers closed the main entrance to the village, preventing citizens from entering and leaving for some time.

Israeli soldiers were filmed throwing belongings from Palestinian homes in Qusra, where colonists have besieged several houses for more than a week.

Israeli colonists have operated alongside Israeli forces during raids on Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank.

Malaysian PM condemns Israel’s E1 colony plan

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has condemned an Israeli decision to issue a tender for more than 1,200 new housing units in the occupied West Bank under Israel’s E1 colony project.

“This tract of land east of Jerusalem has long been critical to the viability of a Palestinian state. Building on it would divide the West Bank and gravely undermine the prospect of a contiguous Palestinian homeland,” Anwar Ibrahim said in a post on X.

He said the announcement “has abandoned even the pretence of seeking peace or respecting the will of the international community.”

The Malaysian leader said his government would “take careful note” of any international companies that get involved with the project “and will act accordingly.”

How damaging is the E1 colony to the prospects of a Palestinian state?

The E1 colony cuts the West Bank into two separate halves – the southern part and the northern part – and that gap in between will be filled with illegal Israeli colonies.

So imagine it as a building block that is stopping Palestinians from getting, for example, from Ramallah to Bethlehem, or from Nablus to Hebron. They would be completely cut off by this huge bloc of illegal Israeli colonies.

One of the ideas that has been floated by the Israelis is even to give Palestinians underground tunnels to be able to move from one city to another.

This further fragments the future Palestinian independent state as it cuts it in half, but it is also a reminder of how Israel has been using these illegal colonies strategically.

They are very well placed in a way to prevent Palestinians from ever having a Palestinian state.

Palestinian president welcomes international joint statement on illegal E1 colony

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has welcomed the statement issued by Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom rejecting Israel’s plans to proceed with its E1 colony expansion.

He welcomed their reaffirmation that Israeli colonies in occupied Palestinian territory are illegal and undermine the so-called “two-state solution”, and their warning that the plans are a threat to prospects to peace and the territorial contiguity of the Palestinian territory.

Abbas called on the Israeli government to halt and cancel its E1 plan, saying that its separation of the northern and southern West Bank and isolation of East Jerusalem would be a flagrant violation of international law.

He described the plan as representing a highly dangerous step in colony expansion and annexation, and called on the countries, along with the EU and UN Security Council, to enact concrete measures to stop its implementation.

The UN General Assembly passed a resolution in 2024 calling on Israel to end its occupation within a year. But since then, Israel has announced more colonies in occupied Palestinian territory. More than 700,000 Israelis live in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in illegal colonies built on Palestinian land.

Israeli tenders for a new illegal West Bank colony are provoking outcry

Israel has opened tenders for the construction of more than 1,200 Israeli homes in the occupied West Bank, advancing a major illegal colony expansion which rights groups say will, in effect, sever Palestinian territory in two.

The move is part of Israel’s plan to create the so-called E1 area on a stretch of Palestinian land, which will ultimately form a continuous Israeli colony “corridor” between occupied East Jerusalem and the large colony of Ma’ale Adumim, 7km (4.5 miles) east of Jerusalem.

E1 would further disrupt Palestinian movement between the northern and southern West Bank and isolate communities on each side. It is also illegal under international law.

Several Western governments have condemned the plans, urged Israel to withdraw the tenders and warned companies against bidding.

Eight more countries ‘unequivocally condemn’ Israel’s illegal colonies and reject E1 plan

The foreign ministers of Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have released a joint statement in which they “categorically reject” Israel’s E1 colony plan and related activities east of occupied East Jerusalem.

The ministers said they “unequivocally condemn” Israel’s continued illegal colony policies, and reiterated their condemnation of settler violence against Palestinians.

The E1 colony plan, which would result in 1,200 new colony housing units in the occupied West Bank, “constitutes a dangerous escalation that further advances colony expansion and annexation and undermines the geographical contiguity” of Palestine, they added.

The ministers “support all efforts aimed at ensuring accountability, including through appropriate international measures and sanctions against entities and individuals responsible for illegal colony activities, including the “E1” colony plan, as well as those supporting, facilitating or implementing policies of colony expansion and annexation.”

They stressed that “a lack of accountability” contributes to these violations and undermines prospects for a just and comprehensive peace.

EU Commission president says Israel’s colony plan ‘unacceptable’

Ursula von der Leyen has said that Israel’s decision to publish construction tenders for its E1 colony project is “unacceptable”.

“We have long opposed this step,” she wrote in a post on X. “It undermines the two-state solution by dividing the West Bank and breaking the territorial continuity of the Palestinian Territories.”

The E1 plan is for a massive expansion of colonies in the occupied West Bank, connecting existing colonies in Maale Adumim with occupied East Jerusalem.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotritch has previously said that it “buries the idea of a Palestinian state”.

Von der Leyen had to face EU member states who demand review of the 1990s association agreement between the EU and the Israelis over Israeli escalation in the West Bank. She refuse. The reason might be linked to her native country's relation with the Israelis which last since the 1950s.

According to Palestine’s Wafa news agency, Israeli forces and colonists have continued a campaign of arrests, raids, demolitions and land seizures across the occupied West Bank on Friday.

• Colonists shot and killed 17-year-old Kareem Sanad Shalalda in Sa’ir, near Hebron, while Israeli forces shot and killed 58-year-old Fathi Khazem inside his home in Jenin, preventing an ambulance from reaching him and leaving him to bleed to death before taking his body.
• Israeli troops shot a 14-year-old child in the chest and back during a raid into Zababdeh, south of Jenin.
• Colonists attacked homes in Deir Shams near ad-Dhahiriya and Samou, wounding five Palestinians, stealing sheep, smashing an ambulance window and burning machinery at a local quarry while painting racist death threats on its walls.
• Colonists assaulted Palestinians in Shu’fat and Beit Furik, raided a house in Masafer Yatta, attacked vehicles in al-Mughayyir, and continued a 13-day siege on homes in Qusra.
• Israeli forces arrested 18 Palestinians across Tulkarem, Jenin, Tubas, Nablus, Bethlehem and Hebron, including detaining a woman in Shufa and taking a man and his wife to pressure their son to surrender.
• Israeli forces restricted access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Friday prayers, searching worshippers, setting up iron barriers, and forcing banished Palestinians to pray outside the Old City walls.
