Israeli forces bomb building in southern Lebanon

Israeli forces have launched an air attack on a building in the village of Deir al-Zahrani in the southern district of Nabatieh minutes after issuing a forced displacement order for residents.

Israeli military spokeswoman Ella Waweya, in a post on X, told residents of the targeted building and neighboring homes to flee immediately. She said the attack was in response to Hezbollah fighters launching an explosive drone towards Israeli forces occupying parts of southern Lebanon.

Israel illegally occupies 5 percent of Lebanese territory, extending 10km (6 miles) from the Blue Line, the UN-demarcated boundary between Lebanon and Israel.

Footage shows the moment of the attack, with large flames and thick plumes of smoke rising from the targeted building in the southern village of Deir el-Zahrani.

Another clip posted by al-Manar TV showed dozens of cars moving along a road in what the outlet said was a “heavy displacement” from Deir al-Zahrani ahead of the strike, after the Israeli military issued a forced displacement notice for residents.

Israeli drone hits vehicle in southern Lebanon

Israeli forces have launched a drone attack on a car in the town of Kfar Reman in southern Nabatieh, Lebanese media reports.

Al Jadeed, an independent television station, reported that the strike took place on the outskirts of Kfar Reman, in the Doha area. It said at least two people were killed.

Al-Manar, another Lebanese outlet, also reported on the strike, but did not say whether there were any casualties.

The report came as Israel also continues to bomb Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement brokered by the US. Israeli forces killed at least four people and wounded another 20 in air raids on Sunday, according to the official National News Agency.

Casualties as Israeli forces strike another building in southern Lebanon

As earlier mentioned, there where a series of Israeli air attacks in southern Lebanon overnight, including a building in Deir al-Zahrani and a vehicle in Kfar Reman.

Lebanon’s al-Manar TV and Al Mayadeen are now reporting that Israeli forces also hit a building in Kfar Reman. The outlets said rescue teams have pulled 10 wounded people from the rubble and that a search is under way for others.

Al Mayadeen also had more details on the vehicle attack in Kfar Reman, saying a paramedic was killed in the strike.

Earlier, Al Jadeed, an independent television network, said at least two people were killed in that strike.

At least 10 killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon’s Kfar Reman

Israeli strikes on Kfar Reman in southern Lebanon overnight have killed at least 10 people, according to our correspondent.

Nine of the 10 victims were killed in a strike on a building, while the other victim was on a motorcycle.

There’s been a wave of Israeli attacks over the past 48 hours. Civilians are being killed and residential homes are being destroyed.

An Israeli air strike on Kfar Reman have killed up to nine people. Among the dead are children, including a two-month-old infant.

Civil defence workers have been here throughout the night after the strike happened at approximately 2:30am local time (23:30 GMT). It’s no longer a rescue operation – it’s a recovery operation.

They’ve already pulled the bodies of children from underneath the rubble, and believe there are two more bodies under the rubble, among them a child.

Death toll in Kfar Reman rises to 11, two infants among victims

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency has raised the number of people killed in Israel’s strikes on Kfar Reman to 11.

It says nine people, including two infants, were killed in an overnight strike on a three-story residential building in the southern town. Five others were also wounded.

According to the agency, two others were also killed in an Israeli drone attack on a civilian vehicle in the same town. It identified the victims as two paramedics from the Islamic Scout Association, Ali Shahrour and Hadi Farhat.

Talks between Israel and Lebanon stall amid deadly Israeli campaign

The last round of talks in Rome between representatives of the Lebanese and Israeli governments was in August.

Since then, no date has been set for the resumption of talks or an eighth round.

Israeli officials were saying that, in one way or another, they’re declaring this whole agreement – which involves this so-called pilot zone process – dead.

According to this agreement, Israel should gradually withdraw from areas in southern Lebanon. They occupy dozens of villages in the south of the country. The Lebanese army would replace them, and there would be a verification mechanism to ensure that Hezbollah does not return or re-establish itself.

Israel is refusing further withdrawals. The defense minister said no further withdrawals unless Hezbollah disarms throughout Lebanon, which is something Hezbollah is refusing to do.

They’re saying they’re ready to disarm south of the Litani River, but not north of the Litani River.

So you have this stalled process, with the Lebanese president calling on the US and the international community to help.

Israel ‘recognises no limits’ after invasion of Lebanon: Iran

Iran says Israel’s invasion and occupation of southern Lebanon are “a lesson for the region”.

“Israel has enjoyed a form of impunity due to the United States’s full support, the inaction of the UN, and the indifference of European countries that claim to uphold international law and human rights,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Baghaei.

“Israel’s actions against Lebanon clearly violate the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. These developments once again highlight the importance of resistance and ensuring that Lebanon has the necessary capabilities to defend its sovereignty, dignity and territorial integrity,” he added.

“The events are a lesson for Lebanon and the region against a party that recognises no limits; preserving national sovereignty requires resistance and steadfastness.”

Israeli drone strikes target al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon

Israeli forces have conducted two bombings in al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon, the country’s National News Agency reports.

Drones dropped “barrels containing highly explosive devices” on the town south of the city of Tyre this morning, it said.

The attack comes after Israeli strikes on Kfar Reman in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh killed 11 people overnight.

 

This resembles the barrel bombs which  the Assad regime dropped from helicopters during the Syrian uprising in 2011 and 2012.

Israel carries out air strike on southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh al-Fawqa

A new Israeli attack on Nabatieh al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh governorate.

Israeli air strikes killed at least two people on Sunday in the same municipality.

Since March, Israel has carried out bombardment across Lebanon and launched a ground invasion and occupation. Lebanon says the attacks have killed more than 4,300 people.

President Aoun condemns Israel’s attacks on Lebanon as ‘unjustified crimes’

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has denounced Israel’s “repeated attacks, killing of innocent civilians, including children and women, the destruction and burning of homes and the bulldozing of property”.

Aoun said Israel’s actions undermine efforts to stop the escalation in the south of the country, as well as the region as a whole.

Lebanon supports the renewal of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon’s (UNIFIL) mandate saying Beirut is working with French President Emmanuel Macron to facilitate this.

“We also welcome the French and Italian initiative to form a European force to fill the void after UNIFIL’s withdrawal,” he added.

Israel justifies attacks on Gaza, Lebanon citing no disarmament by armed groups

Dan Perry, an author and journalist, says Israel justifies violations of its “ceasefires” in Gaza and Lebanon by arguing Hamas and Hezbollah have not yet been disarmed.

From Israel’s perspective, a key element in truce agreements in Gaza and Lebanon is “the disarmament of non-state actors that it believes are implacably committed to its destruction and to causing damage, specifically Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon”, he said.

“Both ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon included the disarmament of those respective militias and neither has happened,” Perry said.

This is “how Israel justifies continuing action and the parameters for such action are more or less in place right now”, he added.

Israeli forces bomb southern Lebanon town of Houl

Israel’s military carried out a bombing in the southern Lebanese town of Houla, in Marjayoun district, the state-run National News Agency reports.

Local politicians in southern Lebanon protest deadly Israeli attacks

Local political figures in southern Lebanon gathered in Tyre district to protest Israel’s deadly spree of strikes.

The politicians held a sit-in outside a government building where they raised Lebanese flags, waved pictures of their battered villages, and held banners denouncing ongoing Israeli attacks, the National News Agency reported.

Israeli attacks have killed at least 11 people in the town of Kfar Rumman.

Lebanon toll rises to 27 dead, 69 wounded in 3 days of Israeli strikes

Israeli air strikes across southern Lebanon over the past three days have killed at least 27 people and wounded 69 including children, women, and medical personnel.

The deadliest single strike occurred on the town of Kfar Reman in Nabatieh district where an attack on a residential building killed 11 people, the Health Ministry said.

The death toll remains preliminary as search-and-rescue operations continue, it said.

Lebanon leader and French minister discuss Israel’s ongoing attacks

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has met French Justice Minister Gerard Darmanin and told him Israel is undermining a US-brokered deal with continued strikes on southern Lebanon.

“We entered into direct negotiations and signed a framework agreement under American sponsorship,” Aoun said during their meeting at Baabda Palace.

“Unfortunately, Lebanon abides by the agreement while Israel does not stop offering pretexts to justify its aggression.”

Aoun condemned strikes that have destroyed entire villages calling the destruction “completely disproportionate” and a violation of international law.

He said 253 children have been killed since the escalation began in March. “The question being asked today is does Israel want peace or war?”

At least one killed, 10 injured in Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon

Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon have killed one person and injured 10 others, the country’s Health Ministry says, according to the state-run National News Agency (NNA).

The ministry’s emergency operations centre said one person was killed on Monday in the village of Ar-Rihan, in Jezzine district, while nine people, including two children and three women, were injured in the al-Maslakh neighbourhood of Nabatieh city. One additional person was injured in Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
