Lebanon’s Ali al-Tahir heights come under renewed Israeli attack
Israel has carried out an air raid in the vicinity of the Ali al-Tahir heights in southern Lebanon, one of our correspondents reports.
There was no immediate word of damage or casualties.
The heights, which provide strategic high ground overlooking Nabatieh, have come under repeated attack by Israel, which claims that Hezbollah maintains tunnels and fortified positions underneath them.

Israeli shelling, demolitions reported across southern Lebanon
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) says Israeli forces carried out heavy artillery shelling early on Saturday in the town of al-Mansouri, around Bayt al-Sayyad and on the outskirts of Majdal Zoun.
NNA said the Israeli army also conducted extensive demolition operations overnight in the three towns and villages, where it reported that “no homes remained undamaged.”
Similar demolitions were reported in Haddatha, Beit Yahoun and Aita al-Jabal, along with machinegun fire towards nearby valleys.
Separately, Israel has carried out an air raid in the vicinity of the Ali al-Tahir heights in southern Lebanon, one of our correspondents reported.
Israeli drones were also reported flying continuously over villages and towns in the western and central sectors of southern Lebanon.

Israeli warplanes launch two raids on Ali al-Taher heights
Israeli warplanes launched two raids on the Ali al-Taher heights on the northern outskirts of the Nabatieh al-Fawqa village, according to the country’s National News Agency (NNA).
Separately, from last night until dawn today, artillery hit the outskirts of Kfar Reman village, using phosphorus shells.

Israeli bombing targets houses outside Meiss el-Jabal
Lebanon’s National News Agency is reporting that Israel has carried out an attack targeting houses in the Houshin area on the outskirts of Meiss el-Jabal in the Marjayoun district of southern Lebanon.
Israel continues to carry out strikes and demolitions in Lebanon despite the ceasefire that was renewed in June.

Lebanon’s economy projected to shrink in 2026: World Bank
Lebanon’s economy is projected to shrink by 6.4 percent this year as conflict turns a brief post-crisis recovery into a sharp downturn, says the World Bank.
The global lender’s Summer 2026 Lebanon Economic Monitor, titled A Conflict-Torn Economy, noted that the country entered the year on stronger footing after expanding by 4.2 percent in 2025, its highest real gross domestic product (GDP) growth since the 2019 financial collapse.
“The rebound was sharply interrupted by the March 2026 escalation in conflict, which further damaged housing and infrastructure, displaced communities, disrupted supply chains and weighed heavily on tourism and domestic demand,” the report said on Friday.
“Real GDP is projected to contract by 6.4 percent in 2026, reflecting the collapse in tourism, weaker consumption, disrupted supply chains, heightened insecurity, and prolonged displacement,” it added.

Israel continues to attack southern Lebanon
Israel has attacked the two villages – Majdal Zoun in Tyre and Konin in Bint Jbeil – Lebanon’s National News Agency reports.
Successive attacks have also been reported in al-Mashaa in al-Mansouri in Tyre in southern Lebanon.

Israeli army strikes Lebanon’s Haddatha, large explosion reported
The Israeli military has struck the town of Haddatha, in southern Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil district, the National News Agency reports.
It added that the strike caused a large explosion and a blast that was heard across the region.
The weapon used and the exact target of the attack were not immediately clear.

Houthi Foreign Ministry condemns US sanctions on Hezbollah
The Houthi-run Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs says new US sanctions on Hezbollah constitute active participation in Israeli crimes.
“When the Israeli enemy is unable to achieve a military victory, the Americans step in to complete the role,” the Houthis said, the Houthi-controlled Yemen News Agency (SABA) reported.
In the statement, the ministry called US measures adopted this week that designated Hezbollah a proxy group of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps illegal and a violation of international law.
The statement also appeared to issue a warning to the wider Lebanese government: “The authorities in Lebanon must study history carefully, for standing with the enemy will inevitably lead to loss.”
