Israeli opposition leader says he will sue Netanyahu’s wife
The Democrats party leader, Yair Golan, says he intends to sue Sara Netanyahu for defamation after the Israeli PM’s wife alleged he had advance knowledge of the October 2023 attacks.
Golan told Israel’s Army Radio that legal action would be filed against Netanyahu, describing her comments as incitement.
Golan, a former deputy chief of staff of the Israeli military, traveled to the site of the Nova music festival on the morning of the attacks and helped rescue several people.

Israeli far-right ministers use occupation as campaign material ahead of vote
Ahead of an October election in which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc is behind in the polls, far-right Israeli ministers have turned the machinery of Palestine’s occupation into campaign material.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, whose face already appears on campaign billboards across the occupied West Bank, released an AI-generated ad warning he would do to the Negev and Galilee – areas with large Palestinian populations inside Israel – what he’s done to the occupied West Bank by building Jewish settlements under the slogan, “Ahmed is right to be afraid”.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded with his own AI video depicting overweight Palestinian prisoners entering Israeli jails on an assembly line.

Qatar denounces Israeli ‘exploitation’ of Middle East crisis
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari has accused Israel of exploiting the conflict between the US and Iran to launch deadly attacks throughout the region.
He also said discussions are ongoing with Oman and Pakistan on de-escalation measures in the Middle East.
“Leaving the Strait of Hormuz crisis unresolved will lead to escalation and harm everyone. We are working with our partners to reach a peaceful solution and reopen the strait,” al-Ansari told reporters at a weekly briefing.
“We warn against the Israeli occupation exploiting the escalation in the region to impose a new reality in Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian territories.”
