Oil output in Iraq’s Kurdish region resumes after drone attacks, says minister
Oil production in Iraq’s Kurdish region has resumed at 220-230,000 barrels per day after companies returned to work following disruptions caused by drone attacks during the US-Israeli war on Iran.
That’s according to the acting natural resources minister speaking to local media.

Iran-backed Iraqi armed group ties arms regulation to US withdrawal from Iraq
Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, an Iran-backed Iraqi armed group, says it will cooperate with efforts to regulate weapons in the country only if 10 conditions are met, foremost among them the complete withdrawal of US forces from Iraq. The group has longstanding links to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In a statement, the group demanded an end to any US military presence “under any title” and called for Iraqi airspace to be barred from being used to launch attacks against neighboring countries. It also demanded that all weapons be brought under state authority only alongside measures strengthening Iraq’s armed forces and air defenses.
Its other conditions include the withdrawal of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters from Iraqi territory, federal control of borders in the Kurdish region and the removal of Iranian opposition groups based in northern Iraq.
The statement comes as Baghdad faces mounting pressure to bring weapons held by Iran-backed factions under state control, with Iraqi political leaders setting a September 30 deadline for armed groups to disarm.

Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah says it was warned before US-Saudi strikes
Iraq’s Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah says Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) chief Falih al-Fayyadh warned its leadership in advance about US-Saudi strikes on armed groups in Iraq last month.
The group’s security official said Kataib Hezbollah took precautionary measures after receiving the warning, but claimed information available to other PMF units was incomplete and suggested the attacks would target only Kataib Hezbollah or other Iran-aligned factions.
The US and Saudi Arabia carried out coordinated strikes in July against Iran-backed armed groups in Iraq, killing at least 20 PMF members. Washington and Riyadh said the attacks targeted factions accused of launching drones at US forces and Saudi energy infrastructure.
The statement comes as Iran-backed Iraqi factions face growing pressure from Baghdad to bring their weapons under state control.

Iraq seeks to ‘be a bridge’ between Iran and US, says Iraqi prime minister’s security advisor
Iraq has a “good relationship” with Iran and the United States, and it seeks to “be a bridge” for communication to reach an agreement that guarantees the right of the entire region, the Iraqi prime minister’s security adviser Qassim al-Araji said in a recent interview with Al Jazeera.
He added that Iran emphasized the necessity of removing extremist groups from Iraq.
