Syria closes its border crossing with Lebanon after Israel warning

The ⁠Syrian ⁠land and sea ports authority says it has ⁠closed its border crossing with Lebanon for departures after ‌receiving a warning from Israel that Israeli forces may target ⁠the crossing.

Arrivals remain ⁠open as long as Syrians ⁠are fleeing from Lebanon, ⁠according to ⁠the media official at the Jdeidet ‌Yabous border crossing.

 

   

Israeli forces carry out incursion, shelling in southern Syria

Israeli forces have shelled an area between the villages of Jamla and Saisoun in the Yarmouk Basin in Syria’s southern Deraa province, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA.

Earlier today, Israeli forces also carried out an incursion into the Wadi al-Raqad area in western Deraa countryside, with seven Israeli military vehicles entering the area and setting up a checkpoint.

The report added that Israeli soldiers deployed along the road from the gate to the entrance of Wadi al-Raqad, opposite the towns of Jamla and Saisoun.

Separately, local residents said Israeli forces arrested two people from the village of Kodna in the southern Quneitra countryside.
