Kurdish group attacks Iranian villagers in region bordering Iraq, local media reports

A Kurdish group in Iran has reportedly carried out an attack in a western province bordering Iraq, according to Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency.

The attack took place in the village of Dary in Kurdistan province’s Marivan County, the report said.

The fighters reportedly belonged to the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) and targeted villagers as they returned home from their farms. It is not clear if anyone was killed.

An IRGC base in the same village was attacked by the group in 2018, according to Mehr.
