Syria condemns Israeli attacks and demands full withdrawal from occupied territories
Syrian Ambassador to the UN Ibrahim Olabi has condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks on Syrian territory during an address to the UN’s Sixth Committee, the primary forum for the consideration of legal questions in the General Assembly.
According to Syrian state television, Olabi said that Israel’s actions “undermine state efforts to restore security, stability, and combat terrorism” and create a “fragile environment for terrorism”.
He demanded an “immediate cessation” of the attacks, a “full withdrawal from all occupied Syrian territories”, and strict compliance with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, under which Syria and Israel committed to a ceasefire, and relevant UN resolutions.

Syria’s president lands in Saudi Arabia to meet crown prince
President Ahmed al-Sharaa has arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh for an official visit to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Syrian state news agency SANA reports.
The meeting comes a day after Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia agreed to activate “deterrence measures” under a mutual defence pact and rapidly deploy forces to the Gulf kingdom to counter attacks by Yemen’s Houthis.
The Mecca Defence Alliance emerged as a response to intensifying conflicts in the region triggered by the United States and Israel’s unprovoked war on Iran.
