Iran calls for global action to prosecute Nasrallah’s killers
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has denounced Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, as people in Lebanon marked the second anniversary of his killing.
The ministry called the assassination a “heinous and unforgivable crime” and urged countries across the globe to fulfill their moral and international legal duty to prosecute and punish those responsible for his death.
“Undoubtedly, neither the passage of time nor the repetition and accumulation of crimes will cause the slightest disruption to the demand for justice and the punishment of the criminals,” it said.
Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli air attack on the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, on September 27, 2024.

US continues to push for Lebanon ceasefire implementation
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met for a little over an hour at the US State Department, where lower-level discussions continue between diplomats from both countries.
Washington is really trying to advance the 14-point peace plan that was brokered by the United States in June and agreed upon by Israel and Lebanon.
This framework calls for an end to the fighting, full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and control of the Lebanese state of its territory, as well as the disarming of non-state armed groups, such as Hezbollah.
US administration officials are saying that implementing this framework remains a priority for the White House, as US President Donald Trump a few weeks ago said, after he invited his Lebanese counterpart, President Joseph Aoun, to the Oval Office, where Trump expressed sympathy for Lebanon and offered support.
But the implementation of this framework agreement continues to have its challenges, as the Israeli destruction of parts of southern Lebanon continues, with millions of people still displaced and thousands killed. Ceasefire talks continue in Rome, where another round is set for October.
