Hezbollah denies link to arrests in Syria; says no presence there

Hezbollah has denied any connection to an alleged “cell” that Syria’s Interior Ministry said was arrested saying it has no presence on Syrian territory.

In a statement, the Lebanese group said it “categorically denies” any link to those detained.

Hezbollah called on Syrian authorities to be alert to what it described as attempts to “stir up tension and sow discord” between Lebanon and Syria.

The real beneficiary of animosity between the two countries is Israel, which it accused of escalating attacks on Syria and Lebanon to destabilize the region.
