Israeli drone strike kills 1, wounds 3 in Gaza camp for displaced people despite ‘ceasefire’

An Israeli drone attack on a camp for displaced people has killed one Palestinian and wounded three in Gaza despite a “ceasefire” in place since October.

The attack occurred in the al-Naqaf area northeast of Gaza City.

Elsewhere, one Palestinian was injured by Israeli gunfire north of Khan Younis. Israeli quadcopters also fired towards civilian homes in Bureij refugee camp.

At least 2 killed in Israeli strike on vehicle in southern Gaza’s al-Mawasi area

Citing the Nasser Medical Complex, our colleagues on the ground report that at least two people have been killed in an Israeli air strike on a vehicle in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.

The number of people wounded was not immediately clear. Earlier, we reported that an Israeli drone attack on a camp for displaced people in the al-Naqaf area, northeast of Gaza City, killed one Palestinian and wounded three.

One Palestinian was also injured by Israeli gunfire north of Khan Younis, while Israeli quadcopters fired towards homes in the Bureij refugee camp. The attacks come despite a “ceasefire” in place since October.

Woman killed by Israeli gunfire in Bureij refugee camp

A woman has been killed after being shot by Israeli forces in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, our colleagues on the ground report, citing Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Netanyahu says Israel killed Hamas finance official in Khan Younis

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz say an Israeli strike in Khan Younis killed Muhammad Abu Alwan, whom they claim was the head of Hamas’s finance department.

The strike comes despite a “ceasefire” in place since October 2025. The ceasefire framework calls for military operations to end.

In a joint statement posted by the Israeli prime minister’s account on X, they praised the Israeli military and domestic intelligence agency for what they called a “precise operation”.

Earlier, Nasser Medical Complex said that at least two people had been killed in an Israeli air strike on a vehicle in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis. It remained unclear if this was the attack referred to in Netanyahu’s statement. A Palestinian was separately injured by Israeli gunfire north of Khan Younis.

Elsewhere in Gaza, a person has also been killed in a drone attack on a camp for displaced people northeast of Gaza City. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital also reported that a woman was killed after being shot by Israeli forces in the Bureij refugee camp.

Netanyahu and Katz’s statement did not address those reports.

Israeli drone attack kills Palestinian in central Gaza

At least one Palestinian has been killed in an Israeli drone attack on Deir el-Balah, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital told our reporters on the ground.

There are other casualties, but a figure has yet to be confirmed.

Israeli forces kill another Palestinian in Gaza, bringing today’s death toll to six

Another Palestinian has been killed and more have been wounded in an Israeli drone strike on central Gaza City.

The death brings the number of Palestinians reported killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza today to at least six.

Earlier, attacks killed two people in al-Mawasi, one in a camp for displaced people northeast of Gaza City, one in Bureij refugee camp and one in Deir al-Balah.

The deaths come despite a ‘ceasefire’ that has been in place since October 2025.

Elderly woman wounded by Israeli gunfire west of Khan Younis

An elderly Palestinian woman has been wounded by Israeli gunfire west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, our colleagues on the ground report, citing Nasser Medical Complex.

The hospital said she was shot outside the area currently controlled by Israeli forces.

Number of people killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza rises to 73,922

The number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since the start of Israel’s genocidal war in October 2023 has risen to at least 73,922, with 174,995 people wounded, the enclave’s Health Ministry has said in its daily update.

It said bodies of three people killed in Israeli attacks had arrived in Gaza’s hospitals over the latest 24-hour reporting period. Another 18 people were wounded during the period.

The figures bring the recorded death toll since a “ceasefire” in October to at least 1,402, with 4,881 people injured. A total of 834 bodies have also been recovered from beneath rubble, it said.

Palestinians in Gaza ask what the Board of Peace proposals will really mean?

Palestinians in Gaza are asking what the Board of Peace will change on the ground. Will their homes be rebuilt? Will hospitals return to providing services? Will displaced families, who are crammed west of the Gaza Strip, be returned to the areas that are now under Israeli military control? And these areas, which they once called home, will they return there?

They don’t want to see promises being discussed internationally. They want to see a real, tangible change here on the ground, as they have been living in the same cycle of fear, displacement, and lack of basic necessities and medical care. They’ve been living in this same cycle since the war began, and we are approaching almost a year since the “ceasefire” brokered in October 2025.

People are asking whether these proposals and reconstruction plans, which are being discussed at the table, will move forward and have a real, tangible effect here on the ground.

All parties must meet commitments to peace plan: Head of Board of Peace for Gaza

The director-general of the Board of Peace for Gaza Nickolay Mladenov says all parties must meet their commitments to the peace plan announced in October 2025.

Maldenov told a meeting of the Board of Peace that the authority of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) will increase gradually “with every weapon that is accounted for and every Israeli force that moves back to the perimeter”.

He added that the goal for the Board of Peace is to have Gaza under “a unified transitional administration” of the NCAG, the body set up to run the strip according to the peace plan.

Gaza reconstruction plans fail to address funding as genocidal war continues

Omar Shaban, director of the Gaza-based PalThink for Strategic Studies, says reconstruction plans announced by the Board of Peace will not address the key issues.

“This is not new,” he said. “Thirty plans have been prepared under the title Gaza reconstruction.”

Shaban says most of the plans “have not answered the key question: Who is going to fund the [reconstruction]?”

“Everybody talks about the reconstruction of Gaza, but the reality is completely different. The war continues,” he said.

The lack of a political process and governance structure is making countries reluctant to provide support, Shaban maintained.

“Countries are not ready to support Gaza for many reasons; one is that there is no political path.”

UK prime minister urges two-state solution at UNGA

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has told the UN General Assembly that “we will do all we can” to see Israeli and Palestinian people “living side by side in peace and security”.

“We stand with Israel in the face of the ongoing threats, including from Iran,” he said. “But this does not justify the Israeli government’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank.”

“We will not stand by as the horrific suffering continues to grow,” he added, warning that “the prospect of a two-state solution, the best hope for peace and stability, comes under attack”.

UN chief says ‘simply no alternative’ to two-state solution

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has emphasised and reiterated the need for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine at the United Nations.

“The two-state solution is the only credible path to lasting peace and security for Palestinians, Israelis and the wider region,” he said in a post on X, accompanied by a clip of his remarks at the UN.

“The objective is clear: two independent, sovereign and democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security,” he added, noting that “there is simply no alternative”.

Croatian PM calls for protection of civilians in Palestine, respect for international law

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic has said that “protection of civilians, unhindered humanitarian access, respect for international law and a credible political horizon are essential to breaking the cycle of violence” in Palestine.

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Plenkovic added that Croatia supports a “negotiated two-state solution in which Israelis and Palestinians will live in peace and security”.

Canadian PM affirms support for two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada’s support for a two-state solution is “longstanding and resolute”.

In a post on X, the prime minister said that Canada had joined the UK, France and Saudi Arabia at the UN to bring partners together and discuss “how we can create the conditions for a lasting peace, where Israelis and Palestinians can live side by side in safety and dignity”.

Angolan president condemns genocide and displacement against Palestinians in speech

Angolan President Joao Lourenco has condemned “the genocide against defenceless populations, the elderly, women, children, bedridden patients, health professionals, journalists, and workers of international humanitarian organisations”, who he said are often denied access to “the most basic human rights and essentials like water, food and medicine”, in Palestine.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Lourenco stated that the “expulsion of Palestinians from their homes through the expansion of Jewish colonies in the West Bank must elicit the strongest international outrage and condemnation”.

Qatar’s PM condemns Israel’s rejection of Gaza roadmap at UNGA meeting

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has condemned Israel’s rejection of the roadmap aimed at completing the implementation of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza.

He made the remarks during a closed-level meeting of heads of state and government convened by French President Macron, UK PM Burnham, and Canadian PM Carney on the sidelines of the UNGA in New York.

Sheikh Mohammed “emphasised the necessity for the international community to fulfil its responsibilities and to press Israel to meet its obligations under the Gaza ceasefire agreement, and to halt its ongoing violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, in order to ensure the completion of the implementation of the roadmap, leading to the achievement of peace and stability in the Gaza Strip,” according to Qatar’s Foreign Ministry.

He also reaffirmed Qatar’s “steadfast” support for the Palestinian cause and their right to an independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution.

Netanyahu rejected the 15-point plan in August, insisting Israeli forces would not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas fully disarms.

Israeli forces make arrests, colonists attack locals across occupied West Bank

Israeli forces have carried out raids and made multiple arrests near Jerusalem and Ramallah, while colonists have launched fresh attacks on communities in the occupied West Bank.

Here are some of the latest developments from overnight and this morning reported by the Palestinian Wafa news agency:

  • The Israeli military stormed the village of Beit Duqqu, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, and raided several homes, making multiple arrests before withdrawing. The exact number of arrests and the identities of those detained remain unclear.
  • Israeli forces also raided the village of Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah, arrested a 19-year-old man in his home, and seized money.
  • Colonists vandalized property belonging to residents of the hamlet of Aqwaweis, in the Masafer Yatta region of Hebron.
  • In Hebron, near Qussa village, close to the city of Yatta, Israeli colonists set fire to a vehicle belonging to Palestinian workers following a pursuit.

Qatar says diplomacy is only way out of regional crisis amid widening conflicts

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said that Qatari leaders have met US President Donald Trump, stating that “the implications of the conflict [with Iran], the conflict in Gaza, the West Bank and what’s happening across our region are being felt internationally” while warning that “the effects of this will only continue to grow.”

Al-Ansari said: “We do believe in diplomacy, and we do [believe] there is no alternative to diplomacy, and we cannot afford to let diplomacy fail.” He continued: “Qatar has been engaged with all the parties of the conflict though Qatar was a target of attacks during this war. But that did not lead us to shy away from diplomacy or abandon our role as a mediator.”

He noted that Qatar has been “working with partners in the region, like Pakistan and Oman, other GCC countries to get to a peaceful, diplomatic resolution”. He added: “We have not stopped working although we have seen a lot of setbacks, … but we do believe this was a week where we could push the discussion further.”

Al-Ansari also stated that Qatar is “glad about hosting the meetings between the parties and seeing them engaging again” and emphasized: “For us here in Qatar, diplomacy is the only way out of this.”

He concluded that the focus remained “on keeping the lines of communication open, keeping the exchange going, listening to both sides and addressing the security concerns of not only both sides but all the states within the Gulf and beyond who are affected by this crisis”.

Israeli military raids towns and villages west of Jenin

Israeli forces have raided several towns and villages west of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, arresting residents and restricting their movement, according to Wafa.

The Palestinian news agency quoted local sources as saying Israeli soldiers arrested a former prisoner at a temporary checkpoint as he travelled towards Ramallah.

In the village of Zububa, which Wafa said was raided for a third consecutive day, Israeli forces prevented residents, including school students, from leaving and closed a bakery.

The agency also reported that Israeli forces arrested several young men near a roundabout in al-Yamoun on Tuesday night. In a separate raid on al-Sila al-Harithiya, forces searched homes and caused damage, Wafa said.

Palestinian injured by gunfire from Israeli colonists southeast of Hebron

A Palestinian has been injured after being shot by Israeli colonists in the occupied West Bank, our colleagues on the ground have reported.

The victim was shot as colonists were chasing workers southeast of the city of Hebron. It is not clear if the victim was among the workers.

Elsewhere, Israeli soldiers beat a Palestinian man in the village of Jinba, south of Hebron, as they demolished locals’ homes, according to the Quds News Network. The news agency posted a video that appears to show the soldiers attacking the man.

Man shot dead by Israeli soldiers at checkpoint west of Ramallah

A man has been shot dead by Israeli soldiers at the Beit Ur checkpoint west of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian and Israeli media.

Israeli police say an Israeli soldier was injured in a car-ramming attack at the checkpoint.

Happened in the occupied West Bank

  • Israeli forces have shot dead a Palestinian man near the village of Beit Ur al-Tahta, west of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank.
  • A Palestinian has been wounded after being shot by a group of Israeli colonists in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. The colonists chased a group of Palestinians travelling to work and opened fire on them.
  • Israeli forces carried out a series of raids in the occupied West Bank in the morning, targeting the towns of Janata, Attil and Deir al-Ghusun. Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, was also raided.
  • A 36-year-old Palestinian woman who is pregnant is enduring harsh health, humanitarian and psychological conditions in Israel’s Damon prison, according to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs. Baraa Abu Khdeijeh is from Tulkarm and has been in Israeli detention since August 27.
  • Israeli authorities bulldozed industrial structures in the town of Jabaa in Jerusalem governorate.

France calls for full humanitarian aid access, halt to West Bank colonisation

A French Foreign Ministry spokesman has said that recognition of Palestinian statehood helped secure the ceasefire, but humanitarian aid “has to enter fully” and “the acceleration of colonisation in the West Bank has to stop”.

Pascal Confavreux, who was attending the UN General Assembly, said that while France recently joined the UK, Canada and nine other countries in banning imports from illegal West Bank colonies, “it’s not enough, and there [are] still a lot of things to do”.

Regarding trade with Israel, he said trade is decided at the European Union, where “so far, the majority is not achieved”.

Israeli colonists set fire to Palestinian land near Ramallah in occupied West Bank

Israeli colonists have set fire to Palestinian land on the outskirts of Burqa, east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian news agency Wafa reports.

The village of Burqa has faced repeated Israeli attacks in recent years amid illegal Israeli colony expansion, including the burning of crops and agricultural land, the uprooting of trees and assaults on residents and their property, aimed at forcing Palestinian communities off their land.
