Israeli artillery targets southern Lebanon’s Tyre district

Israeli artillery shelling has hit the town of al-Mansouri, in the Tyre district, at dawn, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes flew extensively over southern Lebanon on Wednesday morning, NNA said.

Israeli strikes and drone activity reported in southern Lebanon

Lebanon’s National News Agency is reporting a series of Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon.

According to the agency, Israeli forces shelled the towns of Haddatha, Kfar Tebnit, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Baraachit, where artillery fire hit a house.

Israeli drones have also flown over Lebanon’s Marjayoun, NNA added.

Israeli drone seriously injures Lebanese soldier in southern Lebanon: Lebanese army

An Israeli drone strike in Nabatieh al-Fawqa has severely injured a Lebanese soldier and wounded three other civilians, according to the Lebanese army.

It is the latest in a series of Israeli attacks this morning, which have also hit the towns of al-Mansouri, Haddatha, Kfar Tebnit, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Baraachit.

Lebanese army accuses Israel of deliberate attack in southern Lebanon

Earlier, a Lebanese soldier has been seriously injured along with three civilians who were also wounded.

The army was accompanying civilians on their way home to remove whatever belongings they had left there, and they entered the town, as we understand from sources, after receiving approval. As they entered the town, the Israeli attack happened.

This is not the first time the Lebanese army is accusing the Israeli military of targeting it, but it comes at a time when Israeli officials really have been criticizing the army for failing to disarm Hezbollah. So there is this public criticism against the army and now this attack.

There’s a lot of uncertainty in southern Lebanon, and a lot of instability. Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling happen on a near-daily basis, especially just north of the zone that Israel occupies. The Israeli military is also carrying out demolitions of homes on a daily basis in occupied villages.

The Israelis know that the Lebanese army can't disarm Hezbollah, as that could trigger a civil war. The Israelis are just exploiting the Lebanese army's inability as a mean to stay in the invaded country endlessly, that is occupation.

Yesterday, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it “completely rejects” Israeli remarks concerning the annexation of territory in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

So, it isn't the Israelis to do about Hezbollah but "Greater Israel."

Israeli army says Golani Brigade forces leaving southern Lebanon

Israel’s military says forces from its Golani Brigade are being pulled out of southern Lebanon for a refresher period after months of operations in the area.

In a statement, the military said troops under the 36th Division operated in what it called the “security zone” in southern Lebanon. It said they worked around the Beaufort Ridge and recently completed an operation in the Litani River area.

The military claimed it destroyed more than 900 sites used by Hezbollah and found weapons depots containing rocket-propelled grenades, explosive charges, explosive drones and automatic rifles.

Lebanese army says explosion that injured soldier, civilians caused by unknown object

Lebanon’s army says an earlier explosion that severely wounded a soldier and injured three civilians in southern Lebanon was caused by an unspecified “suspicious object” after previously saying it was caused by an Israeli drone.

“A soldier and three civilians were wounded in the Nabatieh al-Fawqa area as a result of an explosion while the army was escorting residents to inspect their properties in the area,” the army said in a follow-up statement.

“Following investigations and an engineering inspection, it was determined that the incident was caused by the explosion of a suspicious object,” it added.

Israeli artillery shells Lebanon’s al-Khiam; explosion heard in Houla

Lebanon’s National News Agency is reporting that Israeli artillery has struck the town of al-Khiam in the southeast of the country.

An explosion has also been heard in the southeastern town of Houla near the Israeli border, the state-run news agency said.

Lebanese foreign minister calls for peace, urges Iran to cease domestic interference

Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi says stability in Lebanon requires “ending the [Israeli] occupation” and the “handover of Hezbollah’s weapons”.

“We want peace with all our neighbors, and we stress the need for Iran to stop interfering in our affairs,” he said.

He added that Lebanon is committed to direct, US-sponsored negotiations as “the only way to reclaim our land and secure the return of the displaced”.
