Summary Israelis: March 10, 2026

Note: On June 13, 2025, Netanyahu launched a 12-day preemptive war on Iran by claiming without evidence that Iran was accelerating its nuclear program. In December of that year he vowed to attack Iran in 2026 again. After months of preparation by the Israeli Mossad and the CIA, Netanyahu bombed on February 28, 2026, the building in Tehran where Khamenei was. With the assassination, Netanyahu not only started the war on Iran. He and Trump spilled over the war to Lebanon, as they knew that Hezbollah would respond.

Highlights from yesterday   Comments

Israeli media report 30 projectiles from Iran and Lebanon

The Channel 12 broadcaster says there were about “30 launches from Iran and Lebanon” towards northern Israel at about midnight.

Earlier, an Iranian strike killed two people in Israel, while Hezbollah fire wounded at least 16 people.

Blasts in Tehran as Iran vows to respond with heavier missiles

From: Mohamed Vall, Tehran

Just a few hours ago, there were blasts here.

Some of them rocked the windows of our office a little bit, and that has been continuing throughout the day or so.

Every few hours, we’ve had something like that happening.

We can’t tell you about the impact and the results of those blasts, nor can we tell you about the targets, simply because we don’t know. The government is not explaining to the public what’s being hit and what the result is of those strikes.

It’s not just in Tehran. It’s in Isfahan. It’s in Karaj, west of the capital, where power services have been disrupted.

There is also talk of tens of people who were killed near Tehran in a strike on a residential district, so it’s really an intense campaign on Iran, and on Tehran in particular, and that has been the case since the beginning of the war.

But I can also tell you that the Iranians are stepping up their fight, and they have launched their 33rd wave of what they call Operation True Promise IV, with heavier missiles than ever before.

Israel in ‘tricky position’ if Trump declares ‘victory and walks away’

A situation has emerged where there might be some separation between the Israelis and the Americans.

The Americans, if Trump is to be interpreted correctly from what he was saying earlier on, might be about to declare victory and walk away.

That would, of course, leave the Israelis in a tricky position, because they then have to decide whether they are going to carry on taking the fight to Iran by themselves. Or whether they also wind down the Iranian side of things and do what they have wanted to do for a very long time, which is concentrate on Hezbollah.

Even if the attacks on Iran, the bombing of Tehran, the bombing of oil infrastructure… if that winds down, Israel is likely to carry on fighting a battle that it sees as absolutely in its national interests against Hezbollah, north of the border in Lebanon.

This is a first signal that Netanyahu is going to leave the war on Iran to Trump.

Israel claims hit on rocket launcher

The Israeli military says that for the fourth time in recent hours, it has struck “the launcher from which the rockets were fired toward northern Israel”.

It did not specify the location of the targeted launch site.

Dozens killed in Tehran amid ‘most intense bombardment’ of war

Some of the most intense bombardments since the war began struck the Iranian capital, Tehran, just hours ago, hitting the east, south, and west of the city.

The explosions were loud enough to shake windows of buildings. The Iranian government does not release specific locations publicly, and media access to strike sites remains restricted.

The explosions were very intense and were among the strongest since the beginning of this war.

Throughout the day, strikes also hit areas around Tehran and other cities, including Ahwaz, Isfahan, and Karaj to the west. Karaj saw parts of its electricity grid knocked out.

The bombardment appears to be nationwide. It's unclear what the targets are. In Isfahan, however, authorities said the governor’s office was struck, along with a UNESCO-listed historic site.

At least 40 people were killed near Risalat Square in east Tehran, and it’s the latest in a recurring pattern of civilian casualties. The overall civilian death toll has now surpassed 1,300, a figure authorities describe as deeply concerning.

‘Chaos’ at Israel’s main airport as passengers refused from boarding

The Times of Israel reports that some passengers have been refused from boarding planes at Israel’s Ben Gurion international airport due to a quota on the number of passengers on board outbound planes.

According to the news outlet, police were called to check-in counters as passengers voiced their anger.

The “chaos” came as Israel’s Transportation Ministry said that “airlines are not permitted to carry more than 100 passengers on an outbound flight… in accordance with the guidelines of the Civil Aviation Authority and the defense establishment”.

Those hospitalized included soldiers and civilians, the ministry said, with at least one person in critical condition and three others in serious condition.

The ministry also said 2,339 people have been admitted to hospitals since the war began. Some 95 remain in hospital, including 11 in serious condition.

As we reported earlier, an Iranian missile attack on the central city of Yehud on Monday killed one person and injured two.

On Friday, an Iranian drone was shot down and destroyed by Israeli air defences over the town of al-Hara in Deraa’s countryside, according to the same source. Another drone was intercepted a day earlier in the city of Inkhil in the northern countryside of Deraa.

Danish Supreme Court case opens on arms sales to Israel

Denmark’s Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments in a lawsuit filed by four humanitarian organizations that accuse the country of violating international law by exporting weapons to Israel.

In April 2025, a lower court rejected the lawsuit, filed against the country’s foreign ministry and national police by the Palestinian human rights association Al-Haq, ActionAid Denmark and the Danish branches of Amnesty International and Oxfam.

The organizations allege Denmark is violating its international commitments by selling Israel parts for F-35 jet fighters, given what an Amnesty official called Israel’s “war crimes and genocide” in Gaza.

The Supreme Court will solely address the question of whether the organizations are entitled to test the legality of Denmark’s arms sales in the courts.

Concern in Israel over Trump’s suggestion war could be winding down

Remarks from the Israeli officials and military analysts show a sense of worry and anxiety over Trump’s comments that the war could be ending soon.

The reality is they did not win the war yet, and any end to the war now could be seen as a win for Iran, a win for Hezbollah.

The Israelis have been saying since the start of the war that they will continue bombarding Iran until its government falls and until it stops being a threat to Israel. They want to continue bombarding military, nuclear and oil facilities.

Israel has expanded its war on Iran’s oil facilities, which has reportedly upset the Americans. It could be a move in the wrong direction strategically, as it could rally Iranians behind the government.

The Americans are not interested in a prolonged war, given that Trump is worried about his support among his base as well as rising energy prices.

At least 460 killed, more than 4,000 injured in attacks Tehran

At least 460 people have been killed and 4,309 wounded in Tehran since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran, the deputy head of Tehran Emergency Health Department said.

Mehr Soroush told the public broadcaster IRIB News that 18 ambulances and 18 emergency bases were damaged in the capital in attacks since February 28.

Across Iran, these attacks have killed more than 1,200 people and injured more than 10,000.

Israeli officials insist war on Iran will take as long as it takes

The Israeli narrative about this war is very different from the lines from the Trump administration.

Netanyahu has been very clear. The objective is to create the conditions to end the Islamic Republic.

Not just to assassinate the top leadership in Iran, not just to weaken the government – Netanyahu believes this military action must be enough to completely end the rule of the government and have a friendly Iran in its place.

There is no public contradiction with Trump, of course. But Israel’s messaging to the public is that this is going to take as long as it takes.

It’s being framed by Israeli officials as the chance of a lifetime. They say Israel cannot let go, cannot relent. It must create as much damage as it can, so long as the US is still willing to take part in this war.

Israel ‘not looking for an endless war’ with Iran, Saar says

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar says his government is not seeking “an endless war” with Iran and will coordinate with Washington on when to end hostilities.

“We will consult with our American friends when we will think it is the right time to do that. We are not looking for an endless war,” Saar told reporters in Jerusalem.

He declined to speculate on when the war might ‌end.

UN health agency warns of risks from ‘black rain’ after Israeli attacks on Iran's oil sites

The World Health Organization has warned that the “black rain” and toxic compounds in the air in Iran after air attacks on oil facilities as part of the US-Israeli bombing campaign could cause respiratory problems.

The agency, which has an office in Iran and works with authorities on health emergencies, said it has received multiple reports of oil-laden rain this week.

“The black rain and the acidic rain coming with it is ‌indeed a danger for the population, respiratory mainly,” WHO spokesperson Christian Lindmeier told reporters in Geneva, adding that Iran had advised people to stay indoors.

Asked whether the WHO backed that advice, he said: “Given what is at risk right now, the oil storage facilities, the refineries that have been struck, triggering fires, bringing serious air quality concerns, that is definitely a good idea.”

He said the strikes had caused “the massive release of toxic hydrocarbons, sulfur oxides and nitrogen compounds, into the air”.

He also teased a diplomatic solution to the war, saying, “Let’s see if the Iranians want to talk,” and claimed that the US has destroyed nearly all of Iran’s uranium enrichment capability.

Witkoff also said Russians have denied sharing intelligence on US military assets with Iran, adding that the denial came during Trump’s phone conversation on Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Four Iranian diplomats killed in Israeli attack in Lebanon on Sunday: Report

Iran’s Nour News is citing a letter from Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir-Saeid Iravani, as saying an Israeli attack on a Beirut hotel on Sunday killed four Iranian diplomats who were there.

In the letter, Iravani refers to the assault as “a deliberate terrorist attack”

Iran says it targeted Haifa refinery, Israeli satellite communications site

A spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya armed forces headquarters says Iranian forces targeted energy infrastructure in Israel during a new wave of attacks.

Drones were used to strike an oil-and-gas refinery and fuel storage tanks in Haifa, and Iranian forces also destroyed a satellite communications centre near Tel Aviv, a statement said.

The attacks were carried out during “the 33rd wave” of Iranian strikes in response to the targeting of its oil depots, it added.

The spokesperson also said Iran launched five missiles at a US military headquarters at the Harir base in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq.

Incoming Iranian missiles: Israeli army

The army says that it is working to intercept the missiles and urged citizens to seek shelter.

Israeli army claims to destroy Basij forces’ key assets in Iran region

In its latest war update, Israel’s military says it carried out extensive strikes over the last week targeting infrastructure used by Iran’s Basij militia and internal security forces located in Ilam province.

Attacks “destroyed” most of those forces’ “main assets” in the province including several command centers, it said.

The Basij paramilitary forces is considered to be deeply ideological, often made up of young, working-class men. There are an estimated 450,000 personnel in the armed group, according to the Institute for the Study of War.

Basij personnel are often deployed on the front lines of protests and have played a large role in countering uprisings against the government in recent years.

Sharif wrote that he “hoped that his [Mojtaba Khamenei’s] leadership would guide Iran towards peace, stability, dignity and prosperity in the years ahead”.

Sirens go off in central Israel: Report

Israel’s Arutz Sheva media reports sirens have sounded in parts of central Israel, shortly after Israel’s military warned of incoming missiles from Iran.

‘More malfunctions’ in Israel’s early-warning system as strikes continue

There have been more Iranian strikes, more Hezbollah rockets, and more malfunctions in the system of early warnings, with sirens not going off. We saw that yesterday in Beit Shemesh, as a satellite station was hit.

The Israeli army says it is investigating all of that, but there is no doubt among Israelis that the strikes conducted by Iran against several radar stations in the region, especially US assets, have deprived Israel of a significant advantage in the early warning system.

There are concerns that these Iranian missiles are able to strike more and more targets in Israel, even though the military censor has kept a very tight lip on the details.

Israel bracing for Trump to potentially ‘put brakes on war’

Discussions in Israel are of the war taking however long Israel needs it to take. No timeframe, really. There’s even consideration by the Israeli government of extending the state of emergency until basically the end of March.

But Israel is very aware of the pressure mounting in the US, so the message is very clear to the public there that this is not an endless war, the war is yielding results, and the war will result in the toppling of the government and the system of governance in Tehran. That, according to the Israeli messaging, will result in more stability in the Middle East.

As far as the Israeli military is concerned, it is making plans to fight this out for possibly four or five weeks at least. But at the same time, military sources are telling the Israeli public that they’re waging the attacks now on Iran as if the time window is closing. They’re aware that pressure in the US might result in Trump putting the brakes on this war before Israel would like to see that happen.

Netanyahu says Israel will create special budget for Iran war

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have released a video message to the nation addressing the government budget and the financial impact of the war.

In the message, Netanyahu announced Israel will devote a special budget worth tens of billions of shekels to fund the war. He also claimed Israel’s economy remains strong despite the conflict.

In the video message with Netanyahu, Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich says Israel’s cabinet would meet tonight to approve the special war budget.

He said the budget is “an investment” and “not an expense”.

Netanyahu announced Israel would set aside funds in a “special budget” for its war on Iran in the same video message.

Netanyahu tells Iranian people to ‘remove the ayatollah regime’

The Israeli prime minister wrote a message on his office’s official X account urging Iranian people to seize what he calls a “once in a lifetime opportunity” to overthrow their Islamic government.

“The Ayatollah [Ali Khamenei] is no more, and I know you don’t want him replaced with another tyrant,” Netanyahu said.

“So you must act. We are creating the conditions for you to do so. When the time is right, and that time is fast approaching, we will pass the torch to you. Be ready to seize the moment!”

Here is the full citation instead giving Netanyahu more click bites:

"We are waging a historic war for liberty.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to remove the Ayatollah regime and gain your freedom.

Together with the United States, we are hitting the Tyrants of Teheran harder than ever."

"The Ayatollah is no more, and I know you don't want him replaced with another tyrant.

So you must act. We are creating the conditions for you to do so.

We have hit countless Regime targets.

We have taken out thousands of IRGC thugs and hundreds of their missile launchers.

We are focused on regime targets and are doing our best not to harm the People of Iran.

We are your ally. Your best ally.
We fully respect your sovereignty, culture and heritage.

You asked for help and help has arrived.
"

No one in Iran has asked but Iranian expats aligned with the son of the late Shah of Persia.

Netanyahu says Israel will hit Iranian government sites ‘with growing force’

Continuing his message to the Iranian people, Netanyahu says the US and Israel have hit “countless” government targets during the war and “continue to hit with growing force”.

Claiming Israel is the “best ally” of the Iranian people, Netanyahu said, “In the coming days, we will create the conditions for you to grasp your destiny.”

US-Israeli attacks on Iran have killed at least 1,255 people and injured some 12,000 during the war, Iran’s deputy health minister, Ali Jafarian, told Al Jazeera.

The attacks have also destroyed nearly ‌10,000 civilian sites, including 65 schools and educational institutions and almost 8,000 homes, according to Iran’s UN ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani.

Here is the full citation instead giving Netanyahu more click bites:

"People of Iran,

We are waging a historic war for liberty.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to remove the Ayatollah regime and gain your freedom.

Together with the United States, we are hitting the Tyrants of Teheran harder than ever.
"

Israeli army says it has launched ‘massive wave of attacks’ on Tehran

The Israeli military says in a post on its Farsi-language account on X that the attacks targeted infrastructure in the Iranian capital.

It comes days after Israeli forces targeted oil facilities in Tehran and the nearby province of Alborz, causing fires and toxic air conditions that prompted widespread public health concerns.

Explosions heard in Tehran

Explosions have been heard in the Iranian capital after the Israeli army announced it launched a “massive” new attack.

Israeli army responding to missiles from Iran

The military says the projectiles were launched from Iran towards Israel “a short while ago”, and Israeli “defence systems are operating to intercept the threat”.

In a post on X, the military said Home Front Command also issued a “directive directly to mobile phones in the relevant areas”, telling people to “enter protected spaces”.

Gulf ‘anger’ moving towards Israel and US over Iran war fallout

Jason Campbell, senior fellow at the Middle East Institute, says Iran’s threat of closing the Strait of Hormuz over the past week has been mostly psychological, but laying mines in the waterway would be a serious escalation.

Oil tankers and cargo ships currently stranded in Hormuz would be unable to move for “the foreseeable future, as the US has limited capacity to physically remove them from the strait”, he said.

The burgeoning fallout from the US-Israel attack on Iran is leading to more frustration among the Gulf countries, Campbell added.

“Right now, you’re starting to see the initial anger from some of the GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] and other states towards Iran start to spread a little bit more towards Israel and the US, as all these countries are now really affected both physically and economically,” he said.

Reports of Iranian missile striking Tel Aviv

Israel’s Channel 12 is reporting several injuries from an Iranian missile strike near Tel Aviv.

Iran launches latest round of missiles, drones

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has announced the launch of the 37th wave of missiles and drones, amid reports that Tel Aviv has been hit, and with defense forces in Saudi Arabia battling incoming projectiles.
